  • Patent number: 4681458
Abstract: This apparatus ensures improved dissipation of heat from the condenser for the refrigerating cycle. This result is attained by having a blower mounted coaxially with the shaft of the mixing paddle but freely with respect thereto; the blower is driven by the motor at a much higher speed than the mixing paddle. Furthermore, in order to best utilize the air flow from the blower, the condenser is ducted within a shrouding case.

  • Patent number: 4586278
Abstract: An iron in which an evaporation chamber formed in the body of the iron is in liquid communication with a water supply duct through a passage formed in the body of the iron. This passage and the supply duct are interconnected by means of a sleeve the portion whereof which is sealingly fitted onto the water supply duct is resiliently yieldable. When the pressure in the sleeve reaches a predetermined value the deformation of the resiliently yieldable portion allows rapid and effective venting of the steam until the excess pressure is relieved. The resiliently yieldable portion constitutes a safety device against excess steam pressures accidentally generated in the evaporation chamber.

  • Patent number: 4573329
Abstract: A machine for making ice-cream and similar cold products is described, which has a freezing container insertable in and removable from a substantially cylindrical cooling chamber. The chamber is elastically-deformable and has a circular cross-section that is not completely closed on itself due to the presence of a passage. The passage is closed by a pair of shields and by a substantially bellows portion of elastically yielding and thermally insulating material. In this manner, a better thermal efficiency of the machine is obtained.

  • Patent number: 4560111
Abstract: An electric household appliance comprises a container in which a motor-driven shaft is supported axially, a hopper-duct having an end opening into the container and extending parallel to and eccentrically of the shaft, a comb-shaped cutting tool fixed for rotation with the shaft at a distance from the open end of the hopper-duct equal to the length of its blades, a disc fixed for rotation with the shaft by means of a splined coupling and having a plurality of slots through which the blades of the cutting tool pass, the disc being located between the cutting tool and the open end of the hopper-duct, and a slicing blade fixed for rotation with the shaft. The slicing blade is structurally independent of the disc and extends coplanar with the open end of the hopper-duct to rotate edgewise thereto. The appliance also includes manually operable means for moving the disc away from or closer to the open end of the hopper-duct.

  • Patent number: 4470793
Abstract: An extruder for extruding pasta in the form of a continuous thin strip in a pasta-making machine, more particularly for domestic use.The extruder comprises a first tubular body and a coaxial inner jacket defining a circular opening of predetermined diameter "D". A second tubular body having a flange comprises a coaxial cylindrical body held in position by a number of rigid radial elements defining passages and is engaged coaxially in body. The outer diameter "d" of body is less than the diameter "D" and defines a slot for extruding pasta in the form of a continuous tube which is automatically cut along a generatrix by a tooth secured to the outer surface of body. The components of extruder can be axially dismantled in order to remove residues of pasta after the extrusion process. Jacket also has projections which slow down the pasta as it travels in the passage, thus bringing it to the same speed as the pasta encountering the radial elements.

  • Patent number: 4392361
Abstract: A self-contained apparatus (20, 100, 200) for making an ice cream type mixture includes a mixing chamber or container (22, 103, 222) which is controllably cooled by a refrigeration unit (50, 50, 50") including a coil (52, 52', 52") surrounding the container (22, 103, 222). A blade (32-36, 105, 208-209) such as a flexible blade, is rotatably driven in the container (22, 103, 222) by a motor (28, 28', 28") and may preferably include an angled multifunction blade (32) and a scraper blade (36). The multifunction blade (32) primarily performs three functions of forcing the mixture contents downwardly toward the base wall (33) and forcing these contents outwardly from the center (26) toward the side wall (35) and kneading the ingredients while the scraper blade (36) forces those contents upwardly from the base wall (33) and from the side wall (35) toward the center (26) thereby cyclically intermixing the warmer and colder contents and providing a substantially uniform temperature gradient for the mixture.
