Abstract: Various embodiments disclose a computer-implemented method comprising determining a target location in an environment, determining a set of sub-band impulse responses for a first frequency sub-band, each in the set of sub-band impulse responses being associated with a location proximate to the target location, selecting a first pair of sub-band impulse responses for the first frequency sub-band among pairs within the set of sub-band impulse responses, computing a first coherence value indicating a coherence level between sub-band impulse responses in the first pair, determining that the first coherence value is below a coherence threshold, in response, combining the sub-band impulse responses using a non-linear interpolation technique to generate an estimated impulse response for the first frequency sub-band for the target location, generating, based on the estimated impulse response, a filter for a speaker, filtering an audio signal, and causing the speaker to output the filtered audio signal.

The calibration microphone receives a stimulus signal emitted by the headphone system and generates a response signal indicating variations in the stimulus signal that arise due to physiological attributes of the user. Based on the stimulus signal and the response signal, the calibration engine generates response data. The calibration engine processes the response data based on a headphone transfer function (HPTF) associated with the headphone system in order to create an inverse filter that can reduce or remove acoustic variations caused by the headphone system. The calibration engine generates a personalized HRTF for the user based on the response data and the inverse filter. The personalized HRTF can be used to implement highly accurate 3D audio and is thereby well-suited for applications to immersive audio and audio-visual entertainment.

The invention is based on utilization of rebeccamycin biosynthetic genes from Saccharothrix aerocolonigenes for production of indolocarbazoles in related microorganisms (Streptomyces spp.). Method includes the isolation of a DNA fragment from Saccharothrix aerocolonigenes ATCC39243 containing the rebeccamycin biosynthesis gene cluster and the expression of these genes in Streptomyces albus, achieving production of rebeccamycin and derivatives. The invention is suitable for use in the pharmaceutical field.
