  • Patent number: 8034225
Abstract: Methods of use, accessories and chambers, optimal for performing Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) of DNA molecules in ‘Contour Clamped Homogeneous Electric Field’ (CHEF) and ‘Transversal Alternating Field Electrophoresis’ (TAFE) systems, are provided herein. DNA molecules are rapidly separated in the minigels of these chambers. The sizes of chambers and accessories are determined by the separation between the opposite polarity electrodes; which is comprised between 6.2 and 15 cm. Reproducibility of molecule separation is achieved because the accessories warrant homogeneous electric resistance in the buffer and minigels. Chambers allow a high-throughput sample format using the reagents efficiently. It is attained excluding the non-useful electrophoresis zones. For a better optimization, TAFE chambers have several useful electrophoresis zones (UEZ), each carrying a minigel.

  • Patent number: 7556726
Abstract: Circuit to clamp the voltages in the electrodes of the CHEF system chambers of Pulsed Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) which is formed by two identical clamping circuits that are connected to a power supply through an alternator and only one of the two circuits receives electric power at the same time. Each clamping circuit is formed by several resistors and diodes connected in series to form a voltage divider. Voltage repeaters are connected to the nodes formed in the union of two resistors. Each repeater is connected to a pair of electrodes that should be polarized at the same potential. Diodes are introduced to correct small errors in the voltage pattern applied to the electrodes. The circuit is able to maintain the potential of each electrode in front of the variations of conductivity that occur inside the chamber during the electrophoresis. This way each imposition circuit generates a homogeneous electric field of same value and different direction in a PFGE chamber of the CHEF system.

  • Publication number: 20070179663
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and a system for generating an index for storing data. A pattern associated with a first set of data is determined. The first set of data is stored. A determination is made as to whether the pattern associated with a second set of data corresponds to the pattern associated with the first set of data. An index associated with the first set of data is correlated to the second set of data in response to determining that the pattern associated with the second set of data corresponds to the pattern associated with the first set of data.

  • Publication number: 20060034806
Abstract: Trichoderma spp. strains with high capacity for fungus biological control in wide ranges of temperature and pH are described, such strains being compatible with each other. Likewise, a process of selection of such strains through molecular markers is described. The described process reduce the number of necessary experiments to determine if a Trichoderma strain, not previously described, can display a biological activity more acceptable than those well known.

  • Publication number: 20050183055
Abstract: The design of programmable logic devices, such as FPGAs, may be automated to allow scripts, setup files, and other tool files to be created directly from hollowed and filled netlist, and data-path and design constraint files without extensive human intervention. This allows an FPGA design to be created directly from a logic file to accelerate the FPGA design process. Once hollowed and filled netlists, and data-path and design constraint files have been generated from a design in a standard fashion, the implementation of that design onto an FPGA in an optimized fashion is automated by providing a computer program that is capable of implementing the design, testing the design, evaluating the test results, and altering the design to arrive at a more optimal design. The process may include several steps, such as initial placement of logic groups, sizing of logic groups and FPGA selection, timing analysis, and filled netlist complete design review. The steps may be iterative.
