Abstract: A hand cart is adapted to lift an upright water bottle from a support surface of a first height, carry the bottle to a water dispenser of a second height, invert the bottle, and lower a mouth of the bottle into a receiving opening of the dispenser. A scissors/jackscrew mechanism pivotally connected between a pivot arm structure and an upright structure raises and lowers an outer portion of the pivot arm structure. A bottle holding mechanism pivotally connected to the outer portion of the pivot arm structure inverts the bottle. The bottle holding mechanism includes first and second bottle engaging pads pivotally connected to spaced first and second outer portions of the pivot arm structure, respectively, and engaging opposite sides of the bottle between circumferential ridges thereof. Velcro straps secure the bottle to the pads.

Abstract: A descender system includes an elongated strap of sufficient length to lower a person from a danger area to a safe area. The descender system includes a harness adapted to support a person connected to a compact descender mechanism having a channel through which the strap passes. First, second and third parallel cylindrical pins supported in side-by-side alignment in the channel, the strap passing through a first end of the passage around portions of the first, second, and third pins and through a second end of the passage. The first pin is held stationary, allowing movement of the second and third pins toward the first pin. A camming surface adjustment moves a camming surface in sliding, leveraged engagement with the third pin to force it toward the second pin, incrementing frictional drag of the first, second, and third pins on the strap.

Abstract: A compact chest exerciser includes two palm-gripping plates having surfaces contoured to fit the palms of a pair of human hands. The legs of a plurality of removable V-shaped springs are attached, respectively, to ends of the palm-gripping plates to hold the palm-gripping plates in a V-shaped configuration. A user presses the palms of his hands against the contoured surfaces of the palm gripping plates, holding the device in front of his or her chest, and presses his palms together in a "clapping" motion against the resistance of the springs.
