Abstract: Disclosed is a tool alignment device that aids the operator in positioning a hand tool such as a drill or driver perpendicular, parallel or a specific angle to the target surface. Importantly, the operator can observe the device an omni-directional line-of-sight. The device includes of a light beam emitting/detecting device, which is affixed to the tool, and a flat optical reflector, which is placed on the target surface. The light-emitting device is used to project a beam of light onto the reflector, collinearly with the axis of the tool. The beam is reflected back to the device and lights up a light guide indicating when the tool is perpendicular to or at a specific angle to the target surface.

Abstract: A laparoscopic device allowing for the quick attachment and removal of interchangeable, detachable distal tips on its distal end. The device includes concentrically-arranged inner and outer cannulae having distal ends which are dimensioned to simultaneously cooperate with the detachable distal tip whereby the tip may be selectively locked against rotational and axial motion. The tips may include a variety of surgical tools which are preferably disposable, while the remainder of the device is easily disassembled for sterilization and cleaning.

Abstract: An internal anchoring device to which a tubular member is attached for introduction/removal of fluids/gases into and out of viscera of a patient. The internal anchoring device is a discontinuous flexible body having a silhouette approximating a truncated pyramid when in a relaxed position. The internal anchoring device provides increased anchoring capability over devices of the prior art yet, at the same time, is easily obturated, thereby facilitating placement/removal.
