  • Publication number: 20250185697
Abstract: Described herein are starch containing compositions and methods of making from pulse crops such as lentils, peas and beans that have a unique composition of starch, protein and fiber that makes them suitable for use in formulating meat analogue products. An illustrative example is a pea starch composition that is about 50 to 85 weight percent starch; about 4 to 30 weight percent fiber; and about 5 to 15 weight percent protein. In exemplary embodiments the pea starch particle product has a particle size of 30 to 300 microns in diameter. The product is made by a method that includes a) drying a pea starch product to form a powder; (b) mixing the powder with water, producing a mixture; (c) extruding the mixture thru an extruder producing an extrudate; and d) grinding the extrudate to the desired particle size.

  • Publication number: 20250173177
Abstract: Systems and methods are directed toward virtualizing network connections to transparently apply one or more connection policies responsive to features of a connection request. A network connection between two hosts may be established using a service associated with the respective hosts and connection information may be provided to an underlying hardware resources. When data transmission requests are received, the underlying hardware resource may determine the appropriate connection settings for data transmission without querying additional logs or hardware resources.

  • Patent number: 11966355
Abstract: A network adapter includes a network interface that communicates packets over a network, a host interface connected locally to a host processor and to a host memory, and processing circuitry, coupled between the network interface and the host interface, and is configured to receive in a common queue, via the host interface, (i) a processing work item specifying a source buffer in the host memory, a data processing operation, and a first address in the host memory, and (ii) an RDMA write work item specifying the first address, and a second address in a remote memory. In response to the processing work item, the processing circuitry reads data from the source buffer, applies the data processing operation, and stores the processed data in the first address. In response to the RDMA write work item the processing circuitry transmits the processed data, over the network, for storage in the second address.

  • Publication number: 20230332357
Abstract: A method of preparing a non-wood fiber paper strengthening product is disclosed. The method comprises placing an additive in an aqueous alkaline medium, wherein the additive comprises a hydroxycarboxylic acid, and mixing a non-wood fiber material with the placed additive in the aqueous alkaline medium to form a mixture, wherein the non-wood fiber material comprises starch, protein and fiber, wherein the additive, starch, protein, and fiber of the non-wood fiber material, and metal ions of the alkaline medium become physically crosslinked resulting in a non-wood fiber paper strengthening product. In an aspect, the non-wood fiber paper strengthening product is used in making a paper product wherein the paper product has greater strength than the same paper product made with native starch or chemically modified starch instead of the non-wood fiber paper strengthening product.

  • Publication number: 20220400123
Abstract: Systems and techniques for securing network communications are described. A network device comprises a network interface and at least one accelerator. The network device inspects obtained data using the accelerator. The network device determines, based on the inspection, that the data is indicative of a violation of a security policy, and generates a response to the violation.

  • Publication number: 20210195928
Abstract: Dysphagia patients face a number of challenges nutritionally because of their difficulty swallowing. Certain foods may be avoided altogether for fear of choking, and liquids are often avoided for fear of aspiration, so that dysphagia patients are at risk for both malnutrition and dehydration. Despite the technology of food administration to patients, there is a need to have a composition that can effectively alleviate patient swallowing difficulty and provide convenient, quick last minute meals for dysphagia patients that delivers nutrition. The invention concerns the use of a composition comprising a homogenized, comminuted pulse product, and at least one selected from the group consisting of a chemically unmodified starch and a hydrocolloid for the treatment of a patient having dysphagia.

  • Patent number: 9331936
Abstract: A method for communication in a packet data network including a subnet containing multiple nodes having respective ports. The method includes assigning respective local identifiers to the ports in the subnet, such that each port receives a respective local identifier that is unique within the subnet to serve as an address for traffic within the subnet that is directed to the port. In addition to the local identifiers, respective port identifiers are assigned to the ports, such that at least one of the port identifiers is shared by a plurality of the ports, but not by all the ports, in the subnet. The plurality of the ports are addressed collectively using the at least one of the port identifiers.
