Abstract: There is provided a system, a patient support apparatus, and a location tag assembly for locating mobile tags in real-time in a medical facility using a plurality of wireless signal modalities where the tags could be worn by patients or attached to equipment. The location tag assembly can be secured to a patient support apparatus which could be located precisely with respect to a wireless locating node. The wireless locating nodes may be used to locate a first type of mobile tag. The location tag assembly may be used to locate a second type of mobile tag. The location information may be transmitted to a server to precisely locate patient support apparatuses, medical equipment, patients and staff in real-time.

Abstract: There are provided systems, methods, patient support apparatuses and non-transitory storage mediums for locating mobile tags in real-time in a medical facility where the tags could be worn by patients or attached to equipment. Wireless node may acquire wireless signal parameters such as signal strength from wireless signals transmitted by tags. A real-time location system (RTLS) engine acquires the wireless signal parameters and estimates a distance between tags and wireless nodes. The estimated distances are used to classify the proximity of tags to wireless nodes.
