  • Patent number: 11425493
Abstract: A remote-assist system programmed for vehicle parking assist or other remote vehicle operation features includes a selective ultrasonic beamforming Amplitude Modulated (AM) system configured and/or programmed to transmit audible alerts to a primary user via ultrasonic beamforming AM. The system localizes a mobile device that is being used by the primary user to initiate the system. The system localizes the primary user, and others in the vicinity, and determines others that may be associated with the vehicle and primary user. The system defines and reshapes a target zone to include only those associated with the primary user and the vehicle. The system electronically or mechanically steers a transducer array to steer an ultrasonic beam with an AM audio alert to the target zone, where the message is audible only to those within the target zone.

  • Publication number: 20220258695
Abstract: A distributed biometric vehicle entry system is configured to provide personalized biometric authentication for vehicle entry. The system utilizes an authentication token private key challenge generated a biometric wireless vehicle entry keypad, or a passive device such as a smartphone or fob, such that it would be insufficient for an intruder to simply jump the circuit with an external battery. The biometric authentication may be localized to an embedded system within the biometric vehicle entry keypad, and may be self-contained from all other vehicle systems with a wireless vehicle interface and independent power supply. The vehicle may grant access responsive to receiving the authentication token (and only the authentication token) whenever a valid biometric signature is recognized.

  • Patent number: 11414049
Abstract: A controller may implement a key delivery manager on the vehicle side to aid in control of consumer access key delivery. These controls may include, for example, key redelivery to a mobile device, choosing a type of key delivery according to availability of vehicle connectivity, and revoking keys according to availability of vehicle connectivity. By using the key delivery manager, the controller takes into account state knowledge as well as connectivity availability to dictate which delivery method (and subsequent user interactions) should be utilized.

  • Patent number: 11414099
Abstract: A vehicle includes an automated driving assistance system that controls maneuvering of the vehicle under certain conditions. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the driving assistance system dynamically selects a threshold stop time corresponding to a duration of time that the vehicle can remain stopped before the driving assistance system will either detect a physical action from the user to resume automated driving assistance or time out and cease the driving assistance.

  • Patent number: 11370392
Abstract: A vehicle ridesharing system includes a user interface used to interact with rideshare passengers. The interface matches a selected user identifier with a PIN index and sends the PIN index to a vehicle body control module (BCM) of the vehicle through an unsecure communication channel. The BCM uses the PIN index to select a salt value and a nonce associated with a unique user associated with the PIN index, and sends a salt and a nonce back to the interface through the unsecure channel. The user enters a PIN value into the interface to authenticate their identity for the rideshare service. The interface generates a first hash result by hashing the PIN value with the salt and the nonce received from the BCM, and sends the hashed result back to the BCM for authentication.

  • Publication number: 20220172530
Abstract: A method for a secure Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS) authentication protocol measures the walking gait of a user approaching a related vehicle using a passive key device carried by the user. The method also includes measuring the user's gait from the perspective of the vehicle using a vehicle perception system to compare the two and validate the security of an unlock request, authenticate the unlocking session, and protect against relay attacks. The two-factor authentication protocol validates the physical presence and temporal state of the key fob or mobile phone relative to the vehicle using detected key gait measurement (key G-gait) and a vehicle perception-based gait (C-gait) measurement by comparing the independent gaits and generating control commands responsive to consistent and inconsistent measurements.

  • Publication number: 20220164915
Abstract: Vision sensor dynamic watermarking via noise characterization are disclosed herein. An example device can capture an image by a first device, where the image comprising a pixel group has baseline noise characterization caused by a base noise profile for the first device. The device can produce a noise watermark to create a watermarked image, where the noise watermark can be produced by altering the baseline noise characterization to produce modified noise characterization.
