  • Patent number: 11342961
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for near field radio-frequency (RF) testing of devices, particularly user equipment (UEs) capable of millimeter-wave (mmWave) transmissions. An exemplary test apparatus is described that uses a transducer to facilitate near field over-the-air testing of UEs in the mmWave transmission band. The transducer may be an orthomode transducer and may include a dual-polarity port positioned in the reactive near field of an antenna of a device under test (DUT). For UE signal transmission tests, the orthomode transducer splits test signals received from the antenna of the DUT via the dual-polarity port into a pair of single-polarity RF signals. The single-polarity RF signals are separately fed through a pair of waveguide-to-coaxial adaptors into separate coaxial cables, which feed coaxial transmission versions of the single-polarity RF signals to test equipment for analysis. UE signal reception tests are also described that utilize the same or different orthomode transducer.

  • Patent number: 9461599
Abstract: In one embodiment, a circuit comprises a power amplifier. The circuit further comprises a memory that stores bias current values corresponding to a plurality of frequencies across a frequency band for setting the bias of a power amplifier based on selected frequencies, and a controller configured to provide at least one bias current value corresponding to a selected frequency from the memory to the power amplifier in response to a frequency selection signal. The bias current value at each frequency may be selected to maximize power efficiency or minimize adjacent channel leakage-power ratio of the power amplifier at said frequency. In one embodiment, the memory further stores bias current values corresponding to the plurality of frequencies across the frequency band at a plurality of temperatures for setting the bias of a power amplifier based on a temperature of the power amplifier and on selected frequencies.

  • Patent number: 9451566
Abstract: Various embodiments include methods implemented on a wireless communication device for reducing interference during a tune-away from a first subscription to a second subscription when a transmitter remains tuned to the first subscription. The methods may include determining whether the first subscription will utilize the transmitter during the tune-away to the second subscription when the transmitter is operating in envelope tracking mode, and switching the transmitter from envelope tracking mode to average power tracking mode during the tune-away in response to determining that the first subscription will utilize the transmitter during the tune-away to the second subscription.

  • Patent number: 9425753
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are related to a low-noise amplifier (LNA) matching device. A device may include an antenna for receiving a wireless signal and at least one LNA. The device may further include an LNA matching device coupled between the antenna and the at least one LNA and configured to receive one or more control signals to provide an optimal LNA match setting for each band of a plurality of frequency bands.
