    Abstract: Examples of backscatter systems, device, and techniques are described herein. Example backscatter devices may utilize CSS modulation to provide backscatter signals including CSS signals (e.g., LoRa packets). Utilizing CSS modulation may advantageously allow for backscatter communication over wide areas. Examples of backscatter devices described herein may toggle the impedance of the backscatter device between multiple (e.g., eight) impedances to reduce and/or eliminate higher order harmonic components in the backscatter signal (e.g., third and fifth harmonic components).

One aspect of the gyroscope includes the use of optical sensors to detect motion of the resonator. The proposed gyroscope is attractive because it achieves several magnitudes higher accuracy as well as high vibration and shock insensitivity from a novel resonator design as well as other unique manufacturing processes.

    Abstract: A resonator array comprises substantially paralleled first and second resonant layers having resonating masses. A first set of lateral drive electrodes cause the first resonating mass to vibrate along an axis in a first geometric plane. A second set of lateral drive electrodes cause the second resonating mass to vibrate along an axis in a second geometric plane in an opposite direction of the first resonating mass by about 180 degrees. Rotation in the system causes the masses to vibrate out-of-plane in opposite directions. The opposite vibrational directions of the first and second resonating masses produces a balanced system with small motion in a bonding area between the stacked resonators. As a result, there is minimal propagation of mechanical waves from the balanced system to a substrate resulting in lower anchor loss and a high Q-factor.

    Abstract: A micropump assembly is comprised of modular stacked pump stages. The modular pump stages are preferably stacked vertically on top of each other. The stacked design allows each pumping chamber to be compressed by two pumping membranes and thereby provide twice the compression as compared to conventional planar pump designs. The stacked design also eliminates the need for bidirectional movement of the pumping membrane. Lastly, the number of stacked pumping stages can be changed post-fabrication to achieve the required pressure for a given application.

    Abstract: A processor assisted memory BIST to identify detective memory addresses. The processor generates the address to be tested and the BIST generates the test data used to test the memory. Data is written to an read from memory. The read data is compared with the test data. If a mismatch occurs, the BIST generates an interrupt to identify the processor. Since the processor generated the address, the defective memory address is identified. The defective memory address can subsequently be replaced with redundant memory cells.
