Abstract: Catheters and methods for controlling bleeding in airways and for occlusion of airways are provided that allow a bronchoscope to be withdrawn from the airway while an inflated balloon catheter remains in position in the airway, for example at a site of airway bleeding.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for improved placement of endotracheal tubes which have particular application for awake or sedated intubation, are described. An intubation scope having a handle, a flexible probe, and an articulatable tip where the handle has a control lever to cause and control articulation of the tip of the intubation scope. The system has a locking mechanism to hold the ET tube in desired position over and along the flexible probe during the intubation process. Specific methods of using this system for improvement of the intubation techniques are described.

Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for improved intubation which have particular application for awake or sedated intubation are described. An intubation scope having a handle, a flexible probe, and an articulatable tip where the handle has a control lever coupled to a rotary control wheel, which is in turn connected to control wires which when moved by the rotary control wheel cause articulation of the tip of the intubation scope. Systems utilizing the intubation scope may also include endotracheal tubes adapted to fit over the tip of the intubation scope.
