  • Patent number: 9333346
Abstract: A microcurrent stimulation device with a power supply, two or more electrodes electronically coupled to the power supply, a microcontroller configured to generate an electromagnetic waveform, an impedance measurement module configured to measure electrical impedance of one or more biological tissues between the two or more electrodes. A first safety circuit monitors electric current flow through one or more components of the microcurrent stimulation device and interrupts electric current flow if the electric current flow through the one or more components is above a predetermined level. A second safety circuit interrupts electric current flow through the one or more components if a firmware failure occurs.

  • Patent number: 5763791
Abstract: A fluid flowmeter comprises a frame having a cavity that is open to one side thereof for the acceptance of a laminar flow module and open to the other side for the acceptance of sensing electronics that measure pressure drop across the module. The module comprises a plurality of plates that are spaced apart by wires and bound to one another to form a unitary assembly that facilitates exchange and replacement.

  • Patent number: 5576498
Abstract: A precision laminar flow element for use in mass and volumetric fluid flowmeters is disclosed. The flow element comprises a single or a plurality of wire-wound plates positioned in the flow path. The flow through the laminar flow element results in a pressure drop across the element that is linearly proportional to the flow rate. Pressure measurement holes are positioned at some distance from the inlet and outlet of the flow element where laminar flow is fully developed. Full scale flow rate of the flowmeter can be varied by stacking more than one wire-wound flow element, resulting in a series of instruments capable of measuring a wide range of flow. The symmetrical design of the laminar flow element enables bi-directional flow measurement.

  • Patent number: 5548275
Abstract: A protective alarm system for encompassing an area to be protected, such as a swimming pool, includes an enclosure arrangement having at least one and preferably a plurality of flexible hoses that are filled with fluid and substantially enclose or surround the perimeter of the area to be protected. The protective alarm system also includes a detector mechanism connected to the enclosure arrangement and capable of detecting change in the fluid pressure caused by transfer of the weight of a person to compress the hose by stepping thereon. The protective alarm system further includes an alarm device connected to the detector mechanism and operable to generate an alarm signal in response to detection by the detector mechanism of a change in the fluid pressure in the hoses.

  • Patent number: 5511416
Abstract: A wide range laminar flow element for use in differential pressure and thermal mass flowmeters is disclosed. The flow element comprises multiple rectangular channels in a single rectangular plate. The flow element contains tabs which can be selectively removed to alter the effective diameter of the flow channel. Alternatively, the laminar flow elements can be stacked to provide a larger effective diameter of the flow channel.

  • Patent number: 5297427
Abstract: An adjustable laminar flowmeter is disclosed for use in fluid flow measurement. The flowmeter comprises a plurality of paths, at least one of which has at least one dimension which is adjustable by means of an adjustment mechanism. A measuring device is located in operative relation with at least one of said paths to measure a characteristic of the flow through that path. By maintaining laminar flow, the ratio of fluid flow through the paths is linear for a wide range of flows. This allows for a simple straight-line approximation of the flow for a wide range of flow. Also, the full scale flow rate through the device is user adjustable. The symmetrical design of the flowmeter enables bi-directional flow measurement.
