  • Publication number: 20220259621
Abstract: Disclosed herein are biohybrid protein complexes capable of using light energy to photocatalyze the reduction of N2 into NH3. Also provided are methods of using biohybrid protein complexes to enzymatically reduce N2 to NH3 using light rather than chemical energy as the driving force. These methods may also include the production and isolation of ammonia, hydrogen or both.

  • Publication number: 20140135819
Abstract: A tourniquet includes a flexible and stretchable strap of neoprene material supporting a relatively rigid stay on an inner surface of the strap. A buckle is secured to one end of the strap and the other end is looped through the buckle and can be tightened about a person's limb at a location of a severe wound where there is severe external or internal bleeding that must be stopped. The stay is position at or above the bleed site and the strap tightened enough to apply sufficient cuff pressure by the stay to stop the bleeding, while the flexible and stretchable strap applies a relatively lower cuff pressure to permit continued venous blood flow across the strap in the surrounding uninjured region of the limb.

  • Publication number: 20050019313
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of cellular and molecular therapy with modified (genetically or growth factor engineered) and unmodified stem cells (SCs). More particularly, the invention relates to a method of systemic treatment of central nervous system (CNS) and other tumors in both intracranial/intraspinal and extracranial/extraspinal sites, using neural stem cells (NSCs), a prototype for solid organ, non-hematopoietic stem cells.

  • Patent number: 4675015
Abstract: A disposable diaper has a separable panel formed in its front portion over the umbilical area of an infant. The panel has at least one separation line for opening the panel to expose the umbilical cord of a newborn infant and allow it to project therethrough. When the umbilical cord has been eliminated, the panel can be left intact to allow full use of the diaper.
