  • Patent number: 7121079
Abstract: The invention proposes a system (16) for treating the exhaust gases (G) of a motor vehicle combustion engine (10), particularly a lean-burn diesel engine or engine, comprising a burnt gas (G) exhaust circuit (14), of the type in which the exhaust circuit (14) comprises a burnt gas (G) ionization system (22), characterized in that the exhaust circuit (14) comprises an ionized air injection system (24) upstream and/or downstream of the burnt gas (G) ionization system (22).

  • Patent number: 4698586
Abstract: The sensor 1 has its point of operation towards the Townsend discharge zone, and the collection of ions causes an increase in the current passing through it. The electrodes of the sensor are formed by wires bent in the shape of an alpha.

  • Patent number: 4652694
Abstract: The invention relates to a corona discharge lightning rod comprising a tip which is isolated from the ground and having a base which is connected via discharge means to the ground, said lightning rod being suitable for ionizing the ambient atmosphere at the end of its tip. An electric circuit is provided for periodically reducing the potential of the tip to a value which is too low to maintain corona discharge, thereby producing periodic and intermittent corona discharge pulses. Preferably, the tip is electrically connected to a potential generator such that the potential (V.sub.0) applied to the tip is a variable potential in the form of recurrent wave trains, and such that the peak value of the first half cycle of the train having a polarity opposite to the polarity of the ambient atmosphere is greater than the threshold at which the corona effect takes place. This need only occur in the presence of the natural amplification (V.sub.

  • Patent number: 4412960
Abstract: The strip material to be processed is passed successively at a first location and a second location. In the first location, electrical charges are deposited on one surface of the strip by corona discharge between an electrically conducting support for the strip and a wire electrode. At the second location, a sliding arc is created along the charge surface of the strip between two electrodes. Due to the prior deposit of charges, the alternating voltage to be established between the electrodes is much decreased.
