  • Patent number: 5300135
Abstract: Mixtures of hydrocarbon waxes and hydrocarbon soluble polymers which have oxygen containing polar groups provide an abrasion resistant sealant coating for sulfur coated urea.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 9, 1993
Date of Patent: April 5, 1994
Assignee: The O. M. Scott & Sons Company
Inventors: Alice P. Hudson, Fred E. Woodward
  • Patent number: 5008039
Abstract: A low foaming, rust inhibiting composition is disclosed which contains:A. a rust inhibiting amount of a dicarboxylic acid of the formula: ##STR1## wherein Z is COOH or H, and one of each is present, and x and y are from 3 to 9, with x+y=12;B. a foam inhibiting amount of a triglyceride acid of the formula: ##STR2## wherein x and y are integers from 3 to 9, x and y together equal 12. R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are saturated/unsaturated hydrocarbon terminals of fatty acids esterified with glycerol; andC. a base sufficient to adjust the pH of the composition of about 6.5 to 10.5.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 1990
Date of Patent: April 16, 1991
    Assignee: Westvaco Corporation

  • Patent number: 4891143
Abstract: Compositions which are particulate water insoluble and nondispersible salts of certain surface active sulfate or sulfonate anions and surface active quaternary ammonium cations are described. They are useful as wash cycle laundry softener-antistatic compositions, in both liquid and powdered laundry products and also dispersed in solid matrices. The particle size is from 50 to 500 microns.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 10, 1985
Date of Patent: January 2, 1990
Inventors: Fred E. Woodward, Alice P. Hudson
  • Patent number: 4597975
Abstract: Iodine-containing surface active compositions, useful for cleansing and degermining skin, possessing high lather, good emolliency, mildness, and a pleasant afterfeel; and also iodine-containing compositions useful for cleaning and degerming hard surfaces, possessing good detergency and long lasting biocidal activity, contain certain surface active amine oxides and iodine in the form of an amine oxide-triiodide undissociated salt.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 11, 1983
Date of Patent: July 1, 1986
Inventors: Fred E. Woodward, Alice P. Hudson
  • Patent number: 4392965
Abstract: Softener-antistatic compositions which are effective when added to a laundry wash cycle are water insoluble organic salts of a corboxylate anion containing a hydrocarbyl moiety with at least 10 carbon atoms and a quaternary ammonium cation containing two hydrocarbyl moieties with at least 12 carbon atoms each.
    Type: Grant
