  • Publication number: 20230293317
Abstract: A haptic perception system for a hand prosthesis. The haptic perception system includes a stereognosis unit, a proprioception unit, and one or more processors. The stereognosis unit includes a plurality of pressure sensors attached onto an external surface of the hand prosthesis, a plurality of passive magnetic tags embedded in a hypoderm tissue of a residual limb of the amputee, and a plurality of electromagnetic coils attached onto a skin of the residual limb of the amputee. When a first electromagnetic coil is activated, a first passive magnetic tag moves toward the first electromagnetic coil and, to thereby, stimulates pressure sensory receptors present in the hypoderm tissue of the residual limb.

  • Patent number: 10912512
Abstract: Disclosed herein a system and a method to detect an amputee's hand muscles movements for controlling an artificial limb prosthesis. The system may comprise a plurality of passive tag positions and wearable band with a plurality of on-board position readers. The plurality of on-board position readers may be configured to capture data associated with a first plurality of passive tags positions at a first moment, and capture data associated with a second plurality of passive tags positions at a second moment. The system may further include one or more processors configured to detect at least one of the muscle contraction, the muscle relaxation, and the muscle inactivity based on the data captured at the first moment and at the second moment, and thereby control the artificial hand prosthesis movements responsive to detection at least one of the muscle contraction, the muscle relaxation, and the muscle inactivity.

  • Patent number: 10125151
Abstract: Provided herein are the metalloborane compounds, MOF-metalloborane compositions, and hydrogen storage system used for high density hydrogen storage. The compounds and compositions may have the structure M2B6H6 or MOF-M2B6H6-dicarboxylic acid. Particularly the transition metal M may be titanium or scandium and the MOF may be MOF5. The hydrogen storage systems hydrogen absorbed to the metalloborane compounds or to the MOF-metalloborane compositions. Methods of storing hydrogen are provided comprising flowing or passing hydrogen gas for absorptive contact with the metalloborane compounds or to the MOF-metalloborane compositions. Also provided is a method for calculating the hydrogen storage capacity of a metalloborane is provided in which random sampling of the thermodynamic states of a two-system model of hydrogen in the presence of a metal organic framework-metalloborane crystal structure is used to calculate probability of hydrogen absorption.
