    Abstract: A light modulator and method of forming the same is provided. The light modulator includes a membrane and a tuning electrode in spaced relation to the membrane. A light blocking fluid is received between the substrate and the tuning electrode and a light blocker is positioned between the tuning electrode and a central portion of the membrane. A pinning electrode is disposed between the light blocker and the membrane and is aligned with the central portion of the membrane. An electrostatic generator is configured to selectively apply an electrostatic force on the membrane causing the central portion of the membrane to deform towards pinning electrode causing the light blocking fluid to be displaced from between the membrane and the pinning electrode.

The sheet includes a rigid inner portion alignable with the optical axis and is moveable along the optical axis between a first position and a second position. A tuning structure is operatively engageable with the rigid inner portion of the sheet to selectively move the rigid inner portion of the sheet along the optical axis so as to adjust the optical phase of light propagating through the optical phase shifter.

The hybrid electrostatic actuator includes a substrate having an upper surface and an electrical conductor supported in spaced relation to the substrate. A fluid is received between the substrate and the electrical conductor. An electrostatic generator is configured to selectively apply a variable electrostatic force on the electrical conductor. The application of the variable electrostatic force on the electrical conductor displaces the fluid from between the substrate and the electrical conductor.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a plurality of thick conducting lines for display devices by means of plating method whereby low resistivity for fabricated conductors and at the same time low manufacturing cost are realized. Plating method can be electroplating, electroless plating or combination of both. Substrate in displays can be flat or can have predefined grooves therein. Over this substrate, a thick layer of conductor is applied by means of plating method. The instant invention can reduce row resistance to more than one fourth of original value and in the same time reduce total cost of completed panel.
