  • Publication number: 20230293418
Abstract: A skincare composition and methods for ameliorating transitory post-procedure patient discomfort and creating an environment that promotes healing after a skin rejuvenation procedure thus increasing the likelihood of patients to return for multiple treatments. The skincare composition includes an emulsion formed from active ingredients in a cosmetically acceptable carrier. The active ingredients include an effective amount of one or more neuro-cosmetic ingredients selected for increasing a concentration of beta-endorphins, reducing a concentration of CGRP, and blocking TRPV1 activity; and an effective amount of a prebiotic selected for nourishing a native microbiome of the human skin.

  • Publication number: 20230157936
Abstract: A skincare composition and a method for removing layers of skin in a cosmetic procedure. The skincare composition comprises active ingredients mixed into a cosmetically acceptable carrier. The active ingredients include an effective amount of one or more keratolytic agents for inducing a desired degree of keratolysis in the skin, an effective amount of one or more free radical neutralizing agents for negating cellular damage from reactive chemical species, and an effective amount of one or more agents increasing synthesis of dermal components. The one or more free radical neutralizing agents and the one or more agents increasing synthesis of dermal components are acids in their un-neutralized, natural acid form, and a total amount of the active ingredients is less than 50 w/w% of the skincare composition, and a pH of the skincare composition is between 1.5-3.5.

  • Publication number: 20170119642
Abstract: An effervescent composition is provided which contains a phase-stable oil-in-water emulsion comprising a discontinuous oil phase homogenously distributed within continuous water phase, wherein the discontinuous oil phase comprises a UV-absorbing compound; and from about 20% to about 30% by weight of the composition of a combination of at least two propellants selected from the group consisting of dimethyl ether, a hydrocarbon, or mixtures thereof, and 1, 1-difluoroethane, where the composition includes from about 8% to about 15% by weight of each propellant in the propellant combination, and where the composition provides a phase-stable, effervescent foam when discharged from a pressurized aerosol container.

  • Publication number: 20130115169
Abstract: The present technology provides synthesized particles that mimic key structural and functional features of red blood cells. Such RBC-mimicking particles possess the ability to carry oxygen (and carbon dioxide) and flow through capillaries smaller than their own diameter. Further, such particles can also deliver drugs and imaging agents. These particles provide a new paradigm for the design of drug delivery and imaging carriers since they combine the functionality of natural RBCs with the broad applicability and versatility of synthetic drug delivery particles. Further, such particles can be used for detoxification and other biomedical applications.
