  • Publication number: 20060148977
Abstract: The invention relates to a silyl ester copolymer solution having a solids content of at least 55 weight percent and a viscosity of less than 20 poise at 25° C., comprising a silyl ester copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight of less than 20,000. The invention further relates to coating compositions comprising a silyl ester copolymer and to substrates and structures having a cured coating prepared from such a coating composition.

  • Patent number: 5302192
Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-fouling coating composition that comprises a marine biocide and a binder which is a hydrolyzable film-forming seawater-erodible polymer. The polymer contains sulphonic acid groups in quaternary ammonium salt form.

  • Patent number: 5218055
Abstract: A novel polyanhydride having at least two cyclic carboxylic acid anhydride groups per molecule also contains pendent amine groups, the proportion of amine groups to cyclic carboxylic acid anhydride groups being no more than 4:1 and the content of free carboxylic acid groups, if any are present, being less than 200 mole percent based on the amine groups, A coating composition comprises (A) a hydroxy component having at least two free hydroxy groups per molecule and (B) an anhydride component having at least two cyclic carboxylic acid anhydride groups per molecule, at least one of (A) and (B) being a film-forming polymer. The anhydride component (B) contains a catalytically effective amount of pendent amine groups for accelerating the curing reaction between the hydroxy groups of (A) and the anhydride groups of (B) and is preferably one of the novel polyanhydrides.
