    Abstract: Disclosed is a Galvanometric motor with a rotor and a position detection device, which comprises the following: a deflection element, which is rigidly connected to the rotor and which has a reflection surface, first illumination means in order to direct a first light beam on to the reflection surface of the deflection element, and a first detection device for receiving the first light beam reflected by the reflection surface. The reflection surface of the deflection element is at an angle to the axis of rotation of the rotor, and the axis of rotation of the rotor extends through it. In addition the first light beam is directed on to the reflection surface in such a way that it forms an angle of less than 35°, preferably less than 10°, with the axis of rotation of the rotor.
