  • Patent number: 11798662
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to the field of computer-based image recognition. More particularly, the invention relates to methods and systems for the identification, and optionally the quantitation of, discrete objects of biological origin such as cells, cytoplasmic structures, parasites, parasite ova, and the like which are typically the subject of microscopic analysis. The invention may be embodied in the form of a method for training a computer to identify a target biological material in a sample. The method may include accessing a plurality of training images, the training images being obtained by light microscopy of one or more samples containing a target biological material and optionally a non-target biological material. The training images are cropped by a human or a computer to produce cropped images, each of which shows predominantly the target biological material.

  • Publication number: 20230172901
Abstract: The present invention relates to the prevention and/or treatment of a fibrotic or inflammatory condition by the administration of a compound to an animal in need thereof. In particular, flavonones extracted from natural plant materials such as pinocembrin (5,7-dihydroxy-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-4h-chromen-4-one) have been found to be useful for airway conditions having fibrotic and inflammatory components.

  • Publication number: 20120058962
Abstract: A buccal and/or sublingual formulation comprising one or more active compounds; and a buccal matrix which releases the active compounds at a predetermined rate for transport across the buccal and/or sublingual membranes, wherein the rate of release of the active compounds is either (A) the same or substantially the same rate at which the active compounds are transported across the buccal and/or sublingual membranes; or (B) a rate which releases the active compounds over an extended period as required by the therapeutic affect or treatment window for those active compounds.
