    Abstract: In one exemplary embodiment, a data-plane architecture includes a set of one or more memories that store a data and a metadata. Each memory of the set of one or more memories is split into an independent memory system. The data-planes architectures includes a storage device. A network adapter transfers data to the set of one or more memories. A set of one or mote processing pipelines transform and process the data from the set of one or more memories; wherein the the one or more processing pipelines are coupled with the one or more memories, the storage device, and wherein each of the set of one or more processing pipelines comprise a programmable block for local data processing.
