Abstract: A computer application displayed document such as a Web Page, is manipulated by dragging snippets to and from graphically depicted icons created by the application. The snippets preferably comprise links to the original content for communicating with the content source and/or restoring removed snippets to the displayed document. Preferably links are maintained semantically using RDF and DOM technology.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and program product for focusing the display of tabular data wherein the display has multiple rows and columns of cells. A computer running a tabular data application includes a display for displaying the tabular data. The tabular data application includes a routine for defining a user defined area in the tabular data display in a focused display. The routine places indicators at the top, bottom, right side and left side of the focused display. The indicators may be one of an expand indicator or a collapse indicator. A movable cursor in the tabular data display is used to select at least one of the indicators for focusing the display. The routine in the tabular data application expands or collapses the display of tabular data to give a focused display. The expanding or collapsing of the display is determined by whether the selected indicator is an expand indicator or a collapse indicator.

A routine within the application recognizes a request for a graphical plot for data contained within the selected range of cells. The request may be from a user via a popup or a command menu. A routine within the application provides a graphical plot in a summary cell associated with the selected range of cells. The summary cell may be associated with the selected range of cells by being proximate the selected range of cells, or by location, color or a graphic property.

Abstract: A computer event schedule developer interactively schedules agenda items for an event such as a conference. A user is prompted to select event agenda items for scheduling for the event via a GUI interface. For each agenda item selected, the user is prompted to enter agenda schedule information for the corresponding agenda item such as time and location of the agenda item. The resulting event schedule is displayed to potential event attendees. Separately, meta-data about each agenda item is provided via a prompting view.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer program product for graphically presenting compatible workflow steps to a user through a graphical user interface are disclosed. The method includes graphically displaying a plurality of steps in a workflow. A user's selection for at least one step in a plurality of steps to denote at least one selected step and at least one non-selected step is received. The method further includes determining if a set of one or more output parameters of the selected step is acceptable as an input of the non-selected step. An appearance of the non-selected step is graphically changed if the output parameters are acceptable. The method also includes determining if a set of one or more output parameters of the non-selected step is acceptable as an input of the selected step. An appearance of the non-selected step is graphically changed if the output parameters are acceptable.

Abstract: GUI selected rows of a displayed spreadsheet are collapsed based on column values such that all of the rows having the same value in the selected column are represented by a single collapsed row with an indicator indicating the row is collapsed. All column values of all the rows of the spreadsheet can be collapsed or individual column values can be collapsed. Collapsed rows are expanded for all rows or for a selected row. The expanded rows may be sorted, retain the original sequence but be grouped by column value or may be displayed in the original sequence with rows having different values.
