The method receives M1 and M2 for the Wi-Fi clients and M3 for the Wi-Fi APs. For a respective Wi-Fi client configured to operate on a channel, M1 is a Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) from a serving Wi-Fi AP and M2 is an aggregated level of interference from other than the serving Wi-Fi AP. For a respective Wi-Fi AP, M3 is a level of interference received from other of the Wi-Fi APs operating on the channel. The method generates distributions of M1, M2 and M3, sets a Clear Channel Assessment-Energy Detection (CCA-ED) threshold and a Clear Channel Assessment-Carrier Sense (CCA-CS) threshold based on the distributions of M1, M2 and M3, and transmits the thresholds to the Wi-Fi clients and Wi-Fi APs.

The tactical situation may be associated with a foe and the plurality of signaling beams generate interference inhibiting communication with by the foe. The tactical situation may be associated with a friend and the plurality of signaling beams generate decodable signal for enhancing communication with the friend.

    Abstract: A method of small cell deployment is performed in response to an initialization request or a performance alarm. The method includes selecting an initial number (N) of small cell candidate locations of one or more feasible small cell locations for small cells on a three dimensional grid of nodes representation of an area of interest and determining, feasible M-sized small cell tuples having small cells that do not conflict with each other, wherein M has an initial value less than or equal to N. The method also computes at least one performance Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for a subset of the feasible M-sized small cell tuples, and searches for a first tuple of the subset of the feasible M-sized small cell tuples, the at least one performance KPI of the first tuple satisfying one or more constraints on the small cell deployment.
