    Abstract: Using various embodiments, methods and apparatuses for a shock-absorbing leash are described. In one embodiment, the shock-absorbing leash comprises a handle portion, a cord of predetermined length, a coiled spring coupled to the cord, a gripping sheath configured to cover at least a portion of the cord and/or provide support, by creating a tight/snug fit, to a coiled spring that is located underneath the cord, and a latch assembly coupled to the coiled spring. The latch assembly is configured to be coupled to a collar or harness of an animal.
