Abstract: A cosmetic container is provided with an annular lip within the container neck by a method which involves providing a closure for the container which has moulded integrally therewith a lip-forming member. When the closure is fitted to the container, the member forms an interference fit with the inner wall of the container and is retained when the closure is removed. An applicator wand on the closure extends through the annular member and the member acts as a wiper for the wand.

Abstract: An applicator for mascara eyebrow lotion or the like comprising a handle having a stem at the free end of which is an applicator. The applicator comprises a flexible tape element secured to the stem and carrying a plurality of filaments projecting from the tape element and a comb. The filaments are of hook-shape and are oriented randomly on the tape element and they are adapted to hold a quantity of liquid by surface tension of the liquid. The comb extends longitudinally along the stem and is preferably formed by securing the edges of the tape element together so that they project radially from the stem.

Abstract: There is disclosed a safety closure cap for use with a bottle or other container having a neck portion. The closure cap is made of an elastically deformable or expandable synthetic plastic material. The neck portion of the bottle has on its outside a ring-shaped rib flattened at a portion of its circumference. The inside of the skirt of the cap has thereon several radially inwardly protruding lugs. These lugs can be forced to pass the rib on the neck portion in any angular position of the cap relative to the bottle neck by applying axially directed pressure to the closure cap thereby effectively locking the cap to the bottle. There is further provided on the inside of the cap a liner of moisture-absorbing material which is held in position by circumferentially spaced further lugs.

Abstract: There is disclosed a child-proof closure device for a container such as a bottle having a threaded neck portion. This closure device comprises a closure cap which has on the outside of its side wall a row of teeth and a drive cap which has on the inside of its drive wall a row of teeth and is fitted upon the closure cap. The two caps are dimensioned relative to each other so that the drive cap in a lowered or inactive position relative to the closure cap can be rotated and is axially displaceable relative to the screw cap so that it can be lifted into a raised or active position. In the latter position, the two rows of teeth are in rotation transmitting engagement whereby turning of the drive cap causes turning of the closure cap so as to screw the same off or on. The drive cap will drop into its inactive position by the force of gravity unless held in the active position.

Abstract: There is disclosed a dispensing device composed of a can and a nozzle fixedly attachable thereto. The can of the device is generally a container made of sheet metal and having a top wall including an opening and a nozzle made of a synthetic plastics material having a limited inherent flexibility. The nozzle has a wide opening communicating with the equally wide can opening for rapid and convenient filling of the can with material such as a liquid or powder and for equally rapidly discharging the material in the can through the nozzle.
