  • Patent number: 4210528
Abstract: A closed loop waste treatment and water recycling system that includes a delivery system, an anoxic reactor, an aerobic digestion chamber, a filtering system, an adsorption system, a disinfecting system and a water return system. The delivery system includes one or more flush-type toilets and urinals which receive flush water from the water return system and deliver the toilet and urinal waste and flush water to the anoxic reactor. The anoxic reactor contains bacteria which utilizes organics in the toilet waste to convert oxidized nitrogen compounds, such as nitrates, to nitrogen gas, produce bicarbonates and other products. The bacteria, in accomplishing this, lower the organic load on subsequent processes.

  • Patent number: 4179616
Abstract: Apparatus for contacting contaminated water with ultra-violet light to eliminate potentially harmful organisms as well as to provide air cooling necessary for efficient operation of the UV lamp and simultaneous production of ozone in the apparatus for secondary disinfection of the water, the water after treatment by the ultraviolet light being discharged into a water storage tank, and the irradiated air that contains the ozone being discharged into the tank into contact with the water for carrying out the secondary disinfection.

  • Patent number: 4096067
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for treatment of a fluid by use of a membrane tube wherein a volume displacement rod is positioned longitudinally through the membrane tube to provide desired filtration conditions for removal of a permeate from the fluid, and an improved support arrangement for the rod is provided that eliminates the use of a spider or similar support structure that constitutes a fluid flow obstruction. In the disclosed embodiment, the remote ends of the rod are seated in sockets located in bends in the walls of the inlet and outlet conduits associated with the membrane tube.
