Abstract: A stand for supporting a workpiece above a floor surface. The stand has a central member, a base portion, and an engagement portion. The base portion is for engaging the floor surface and for maintaining the central member in a substantially vertical position. The central member has a top end and a bottom end, and the central member is adapted for extension and retraction of the top end relative to the floor surface. The engagement portion is pivotably attached to the top end of the central member. The engagement portion is adapted to engage the workpiece. The engagement portion is also movable over a predetermined range of positions relative to the horizontal.
