  • Patent number: 5110424
Abstract: A method of fractionating nucleic acid fragments is disclosed. The method is based on counter migration of the fragments in an upstream direction through a polymer solution which is moving by electroosmotic flow in a downstream direction. Fractionation of selected-size nucleic acid fragments can be enhanced by reducing the difference between the electroosmotic flow rate and the migration rates of the selected-size fragments.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 6, 1990
Date of Patent: May 5, 1992
    Assignee: Applied Biosystems, Inc.
    Inventor: Allan M. Chin
