Abstract: A transtelephonic process and storage apparatus (10) for use with a blood sugar monitor or like standalone monitoring apparatus having an output port to download acquired digital data signals is disclosed. The apparatus (10) has a memory (18), a controlling (14), a transducer (17) and an output (12), wherein the downloaded acquired digital is converted into audio transmission signals by the transducer (17), and the audio transmission signal is stored in memory (18) for delayed transmission over a telephone network.

Abstract: A method synchronous parallel transmission of digital signals over a telephone line is disclosed. The method includes the steps of generating a synchronization signal having at least two frequencies (6 and 7), simultaneously generating data signals having at least two separate frequencies from the digital signals, converting the synchronization signal and the data signals into audio signals having frequencies corresponding to frequencies of the synchronization signal and the data signals to be transmitted over the telephone line and transmitting at least three frequencies of the audio signals simultaneously over the telephone line.

Abstract: A diagnostic medical device which monitors physiological parameters during sleep is disclosed. The device includes mask means (2) adapted to fit over the nose and mouth of a patient being monitored, and an acquisition unit (5) is adapted to be removeably fitted to the mask means (2). The mask means (2) has inlet means (3) to allow the patient to breath, sensor means (8) which monitor physiological conditions and which provide physiological signals thereto for storage or real time data transmission to external devices.
