  • Patent number: 10029562
Abstract: A power take-off (PTO) transmission unit transfers power between an input shaft and an output shaft. A gear set selectively couples the input shaft to the output shaft. A shift device includes a shift rail with ends forming inner pistons within chambers. The shift rail is configured to translate between first, second, and third positions based on the pressures of the chambers. Inner pistons nest within the outer pistons in the chambers. A shift fork and shift collar translate with the shift rail to, in the first position, engage the gear set such that power is transferred at a first speed ratio; in the second position, engage the gear set such that power is transferred at a second speed ratio; and in the third position, engage the gear set to provide a neutral mode in which the output shaft is free to rotate relative to the input shaft.

  • Patent number: 7874222
Abstract: A power take-off assembly for a work vehicle including an improved power take-off shaft for installation and removal. The power take off shaft is extended and a cut out section on the first end of the shaft is provided to engage an extended portion of a spring loaded mechanism. Once the cut out section securely fits over the extended portion, the spring loaded mechanism is prevented from axially moving in a rightward direction, thus enabling the spring to hold the gear collar in place to engage the high speed gear. The PTO stub shaft has an extended end with protruding shoulders which serve to capture the snap ring between the stub shaft and the output shaft so that when the stub is moved axially the shoulders will pull the snap ring into the groove on the output shaft which securely fastens the stub shaft. A cut-out section on the front end surface of the output shaft is also provided to allow clearance for the tool to squeeze the snap ring tabs during installation and removal.

  • Patent number: 5518098
Abstract: A hydraulic circuit for lubricating a tractor transmission and associated master clutch is disclosed wherein a high cooling flow of lubrication oil is delivered to the master clutch whenever the clutch is being modulated, but a normal lower oil flow is delivered to the clutch whenever the clutch is either disengaged or fully engaged. The hydraulic circuit includes a clutch lubrication control spool operatively associated with a pilot line sensing pressure from the hydraulic system controlling the application of the master clutch and a transmission brake that is engaged to stop the transmission when the master clutch is disengaged. The pilot line controls the positioning of the clutch lubrication control spool to shift the spool to a high flow position whenever less than full pressure is sensed in either the clutch applied or brake applied hydraulic lines.

  • Patent number: 5499553
Abstract: A mechanism controls the pivotal positioning of a hydraulic control lever on tractors wherein a gated plate is affixed to the control lever to be pivotally moveable therewith into selective engagement with a lockout pin projecting outwardly from a pivoted actuating lever. The gated plate has first and second gates for selectively receiving the lockout pin when in a first position to restrict the pivotal movement of said control lever in preselected manners. The gated plate further includes a stop engageable with the lockout pin when in a second position to prevent the control lever from being placed in a float position. A third selectable position of said actuating lever places the lockout pin out of engagement with said gated plate to allow an unrestricted freedom of movement of the control lever. The pivoted control lever and the pivoted actuating lever project outwardly through a control panel for manipulation thereof.

  • Patent number: 5487318
Abstract: A shift fork assembly for a tractor transmission is disclosed wherein the shift fork assembly is mounted directly to the transmission cover to be removable therewith. The shift fork assembly includes shift forks mounted directly to the shift rails for movement therewith, the shift rail detent mechanism, the shift fork position adjustment mechanism and shift fork position sensors, and is removable from the transmission housing as a unit to facilitate the servicing thereof at a location remote from the transmission housing. The transmission cover onto which the shift fork assembly is mounted is also provided with a secondary cover to permit access to the shift fork position adjustment mechanism to allow positional adjustment of the shift forks relative to both the corresponding shift rail and the corresponding shift collar engageable by the shift forks.

  • Patent number: 4938302
Abstract: An interlock mechanism for use on a tractor to limit the engagement of the tractor power-takeoff only when the tractor engine is running at or below a predetermined speed of operation is disclosed wherein an interlock clip interconnects the control levers for the engine throttle and the power-takeoff engagement control such that the power-takeoff control lever is locked against moving into an on position whenever the throttle control lever has been moved to a predetermined position. The clip includes a first member having a cam surface thereon engageable with the throttle control lever and a second member movable into the path of movement of the PTO control lever whenever the first member is moved into a lockout position by the throttle control lever. The clip also includes a spring to permit yielding movement of the first and second members under conditions where the PTO control lever is moved into the on position and the throttle is subsequently moved into the predetermined position.
