  • Patent number: 4977719
Abstract: An expansion joint for interior or exterior use including a fire barrier comprised of a fire resistant inorganic refractory fiber fabric sheet which supports resilient fire resistant inorganic refractory fibers. The support sheet may be closed to form a sleeve. When used as an exterior expansion joint a weather resistant cover comprising a bellows or a cover plate is employed. When used in an interior application a cover plate may be employed to form a bridge over the expansion joint to provide a continuous flooring or to provide additional fire resistance. The fabric is attached to adjacent structure by mounting flanges in the form of a bifurcated clamp, and one of the fabric-engaging clamp faces may be crimped and pierced to better grip the fabric.

  • Patent number: 4866898
Abstract: An expansion joint having a weather resistant cover and a fire barrier. The cover is a bellows attached to the upper surface of the adjacent joint structure by mounting flanges, and the barrier is a fire resistant inorganic fabric sheet mounted in the joint. The fabric supports resilient fire resistant inorganic fibrous insulation and is connected to the adjacent joint structure by mounting flanges. The flanges may be in the form of a bifurcated clamp, and one of the fabric-engaging clamp faces may be crimped and pierced to better grip the fabric.

  • Patent number: 4848044
Abstract: An expansion joint cover having a vapor barrier channel depending from the bellows membrane. Resilient insulation substantially fills the channel, making it possible to attach an insulated vapor-impermeable bellows cover to the expansion joint members in a single operation. A separate layer of foam insulation may be bonded to the underside of the bellows independent of the insulation filling the channel.

  • Patent number: 4663894
Abstract: A flexible drainage gutter for use under a horizontal surface having moisture accumulation or leaks under cracks or expansion joints. A flexible, waterproof membrane is attached along its elongated edges to rigid flanges which can be attached to the horizontal surface itself or to support members attached to the surface. The width of the membrane can vary so that the membrane hangs down from the flanges a greater distance downstream than upstream, thereby providing for the slope of the gutter. Alternatively, the wall portions of the flanges, to which the edges of the membrane are attached, can vary in width while maintaining the width of the membrane constant to provide for the slope of the gutter.

  • Patent number: 4634622
Abstract: A lightweight asphalt roofing product wherein the asphalt-based coating has a specific gravity less than 1.0. A lightweight filler is used which has an effective specific gravity in the range of 0.10-0.50 and is present in the coating in the range of 3%-25% by weight of the filled coating. In a preferred embodiment, the filler particles have hollow, gas filled inclusions, and comprise expanded perlite particles or expanded permicite particles.
