  • Publication number: 20040100024
Abstract: A golf clubhead to shaft coupling system which includes a flexure joint providing for relative movement between the golf clubhead and the shaft. The flexure joint may be machined into the hosel of the golf club, or may be in a separate coupling piece that couples the golf clubhead to the hosel. In one aspect of the invention, a helical coil is machined into the coupling to provide some relative movement between the clubhead and the shaft for increased golfer “feel” during the golf stroke.

  • Patent number: 5203651
Abstract: A tapping attachment for driving a tapping spindle constructed to be adapted for both direct drive and reverse drive of the spindle. The drive of the spindle is by way of a resiliently mounted dog ring having rigid radially extending drive dogs, extending radially outwardly and inwardly from a drive ring. The driving dogs are rigid, having slanting sides to accommodate clutching engagement and disengagement. Clutching engagement and disengagement occur as a result of relative axial movement as between the attachment and the drive spindle. The drive spindle has a central bore in which is provided an insert member having an axial bore which is connected to a flexible tube within the bore of the spindle, which accommodates relative axial movement, the flexible tube communicating with a similar bore in a tap itself. These bores provide a channel for continuously supplying coolant to the machine and to the spindle itself.

  • Patent number: 5011344
Abstract: The invention is a quick change holding device for tools and, more particularly, for taps. The holder has an axially movable collar cooperable with holding elements which can be placed in holding position relative to an annular groove in the tap and released therefrom. The holding elements are curved, that is arcuate individual members having rounded, that is, curved, surfaces on the outsides thereof. The inner rounded or curved surface of the holding element comes into contiguous flush mating engagement with the annular groove in the tap, whereby improved holding capability is achieved.
