  • Publication number: 20100199812
Abstract: A power tong continuously rotates tubulars for spinning and torquing threaded connections. Continuous rotation is achieved through a rotating jaw having grippers that grip the tubular and continuously rotate with it. Hydraulic and electrical power necessary for actuating the grippers is generated on board. A serpentine belt system turns the motors of the on-board hydraulic power unit and electric generators to supply the grippers with hydraulic and electrical power. The serpentine belt system is driven by a secondary drive mounted on a fixed frame. The rotating jaw is rotatably mounted to the fixed frame and driven during continuous three hundred and sixty degrees of rotation by a primary drive, mounted on the fixed frame. A fixed jaw is also mounted to the frame. Tubular grippers on the fixed jaw grip a first side of a tubular joint. The grippers on the rotating jaw grip the opposite second side of the tubular joint. High torque low-rotational speed applied to the rotating jaw torques the joint.

  • Publication number: 20100133305
Abstract: A belt mounted sleever bar holder includes a belt receiving member of flexible material formed into a belt receiving loop and designed to receive a belt therethrough so as to securely hold the belt receiving member on a belt. A metal mounting plate is fixedly attached to an outer surface of the belt receiving member and an L-shaped metal sleever bar receiving member with a substantially vertically oriented arm and a substantially horizontally oriented arm is pivotally attached parallel with an outer surface of the mounting plate for limited rotary movements of the vertical arm relative to the mounting plate. The horizontally oriented arm includes a sleever bar receiving opening therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5102641
Abstract: A novel zeolite, NU-87 has in its "as-prepared" form an X-ray diffraction pattern including the lines given in Table 1. It is prepared from a reaction mixture containing sources of silica, a polymethylene alpha, omega-diammonium cation and optionally sources of alumina and metal oxide.

  • Patent number: 4677239
Abstract: Selective and controlled dealumination of an aluminosilicate zeolite is achieved by filling the pore system of the zeolite with a foreign material, for example coke, removing part of the foreign material from the outer portion of the zeolite, for example by heating in a gas stream comprising oxygen, dealuminating the outer portion, and then removing the remainder of the foreign material. Use of such a partially dealuminated zeolite as catalyst in a toluene disproportionation reaction leads to greater selectivity to paraxylene.
