  • Patent number: 9823474
Abstract: A system (100), apparatus (110), and method (900) for displaying an image (880). The system (100) can use an aspherical lens (450) to direct light (800) in the interim image (850) towards the viewer (96) of the final image (880) displayed by the system (100). Use of the aspherical lens (450) expands the FOV (860) accessible to the viewer (96) and reduces exit pupil drift (480).

  • Patent number: 9659036
Abstract: An approach is provided that receives an alteration request to mark a selected column in a database table as an unused column. A database control table is then updated to indicate that the selected column is unused. After the database control table is updated, when a read request is received for the selected column, the same data is returned for the selected column for each row being read and this data is not stored in the database table.

  • Publication number: 20170068311
Abstract: An apparatus (110), system (100), and method (900) for enabling a user (90) to engage in a media experience (840) while the immersive nature of that experience is selectively varied. Purposeful user actions (760) as well as environmental stimuli (780) can serve as triggers (750) for changes in the operating configuration (705) of the apparatus (110). Operating configurations (705) pertain to operating parameters (700) that can relate to the sound (710), display (720), progression (730), and haptic (740) parameters of the media experience (840) as conveyed through the apparatus (110).

  • Patent number: 9559881
Abstract: A transceiver system with reduced latency uncertainty is described. In one implementation, the transceiver system has a word aligner latency uncertainty of zero. In another implementation, the transceiver system has a receiver-to-transmitter transfer latency uncertainty of zero. In yet another implementation, the transceiver system has a word aligner latency uncertainty of zero and a receiver-to-transmitter transfer latency uncertainty of zero. In one specific implementation, the receiver-to-transmitter transfer latency uncertainty is eliminated by using the transmitter parallel clock as a feedback signal in the transmitter phase locked loop (PLL). In one implementation, this is achieved by optionally making the transmitter divider, which generates the transmitter parallel clock, part of the feedback path of the transmitter PLL.

  • Patent number: 9472167
Abstract: Activating a screen capture tool in a display adapter to capture information on a display. An operating system sends a command to the display adapter to initiate the capture of information from the graphical user interface of a display. The display adapter captures the information on the graphical user interface of the display. The information may be stored by the display adapter to a storage device that may be connected to the display adapter. The display is monitored for additional changes. Any changes that occur to the information on areas of the display may be captured and stored to the storage device. The operating system may enable the display adapter to retrieve the information stored in the storage device and/or play back the information retrieved to the display.

  • Publication number: 20160295202
Abstract: A system (100), apparatus (110), and method (900) for displaying an image (880). The light (800) in the image (880) is modified by a tuning assembly (700) to possess more than one focal point (870). Thus a single image (880) can include multiple depth regions (860). Each depth region (860) can be comprised of light (800) possessing a distinct focal point (870). The tuning assembly (700) can be implemented in the form a tunable lens (710), a tunable lens array (720), a movable lens (730), or a deformable mirror (740).

  • Publication number: 20160292921
Abstract: A system (100), apparatus (110), and method (900) for displaying an image (880). Light (800) of varying intensities (820) can be incorporated into the same image (880). Such an image (880) can be comprised of more than one subframe (852), and each subframe can correspond to a different intensity region (860) within the image (880) generated through a different pulse (810) of light (800).
