  • Patent number: 7108285
Abstract: A tanker trailer includes tanks mounted one behind the other to a chassis using a flexible mounting system. The mounting allows individual tank movement in upward and downward directions from a rest position. Close nesting is accomplished by provided adjacent tanks with complimentary curved ends. The tanks may have progressively increasing depths from the front to the rear of the trailer. Two sight gauges disposed on a diameter passing through a volumetric center line provides a means of assessing the quantity of liquid in the tank. Alternatively, a single gauge may be used in conjunction with a level meaning device on a horizontal line intersecting the volumetric center line and the gauge. A vapour recovery system includes two volumetrically matched members mounted within the tank equidistant from the volumetric center line one of which serves as a vent pipe.

  • Publication number: 20030184077
Abstract: Multi-compartment tankers, especially road tankers, suffer from cracking of the compartment divisions due to the repeated stressing of the tank in use. The present invention provides a solution by providing the desired capacity in a plurality of tanks which are individually mounted one behind the other to a vehicle chassis using a flexible mounting system which allows the individual tanks to move with respect to one another in response to flexing of the vehicle chassis. The mounting allows at least upward and downward movement relative to a rest position. The use of multiple tanks facilitates the use of a sight gauge for determining the quantity of liquid in each tank.

  • Patent number: 6554168
Abstract: The present invention provides glove removal and/or retention apparatus and a method of removing and putting on gloves using the apparatus. The apparatus comprises housing means having a respective opening to receive, in use, a respective left and right gloved hand. The housing means comprises a hollow tube whose interior is contactable with the exterior of each glove in a light gripping or frictional manner which offers a resistance to removal of the glove on withdrawal of a hand from the glove. The housing provides abutment means for limiting the distance that the glove can be inserted into the housing. The abutment means is positioned to contact the gloved hand between the thumb and index finger and in a preferred embodiment consists apertures into which a thumb of each gloved hand is inserted. The apertures are positioned so that the gloved thumb of one hand can be contacted by the gloved thumb of the other hand.
