    Abstract: A sit-up apparatus comprises at least a foot anchor rod and a base plate. The base plate is disposed underneath a mattress (or other surface, such as a couch) and positioned adjacent to an edge of the mattress, with the foot anchor rod extending outward horizontally (and positioned somewhat below the top surface of the mattress). In several embodiments, a base connecting rod interconnects the base plate and the anchor rod, providing separation between the two. In use, an individual is able to position a foot underneath the foot anchor rod and quickly rise into a sitting position.
