  • Publication number: 20210079577
Abstract: An apparatus includes a closed drying air circuit and a drum in communication with the closed drying air circuit. A condenser is in communication with the closed drying air circuit. The condenser includes a cooled water inlet that directs cooled water into the heated air to remove moisture from the heated air. The condenser includes a condenser water outlet for egress of water from the condenser. The cooled water inlet of the condenser is configured to receive water from a tap water source. A thermoelectric apparatus having a cold side flow device arranged between the cooled water inlet of the condenser and the tap water source is included. The cold side flow device is configured to receive tap water from the tap water source and cool the tap water below a tap outlet temperature using the thermoelectric device before the tap water enters the cooled water inlet of the condenser.

  • Publication number: 20210078578
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for controlling a distribution between engine and motor torques for a hybrid electric vehicle operating in a creep mode of operation in response to an engine start request. In one example, responsive to a request to start an engine while a vehicle is being propelled at a predetermined wheel creep torque via an electric motor positioned downstream of a transmission and a torque converter, coordinating an electric motor torque and an engine torque in one of a first mode, second mode, or a third mode depending on whether the electric motor can continue to provide the predetermined wheel creep torque. In this way, engine idle speed may be minimized depending on vehicle operating conditions, which may improve fuel economy.

  • Publication number: 20210077923
Abstract: A sand handling system having, for example, one to three sand separators are configured to be operatively connected to a well and an inlet of a common dumping vessel. Advantageously, the dumping vessel has a sensor to measure an amount of sand in the dumping vessel and provide a signal to a programmable controller which is arranged to dump the dumping vessel when a specified amount of sand is in the dumping vessel. The system automates the sand handling process and also measures and records data associated with a number of flowback parameters. The data can then be used in well design to improve oil and/or gas production, lessen sand production, reduce well damage and/or equipment corrosion due to, for example, sand.

  • Publication number: 20210081888
Abstract: In example implementations, a robot that makes deliveries based on personal data and a method for performing the same is provided. The method includes receiving, by a processor of the robot, a request to deliver an item to a recipient. Personal data associated with the recipient is checked and a location to deliver the item to the recipient is determined based on the personal data. • Publication number: 20210083621
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention comprise two or more distinct solar power systems associated with a single residence or building that together form an aggregate solar power system. Advantageously, high draw appliances can be distributed among the different systems such that the high current draw of one appliance on a first system will not negatively impact the high current draw of another high draw appliance on a second system.

  • Publication number: 20210084553
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a trigger to dynamically modify a serving site of a communication endpoint, wherein the communication endpoint is registered to receive digital communication service from a first serving site. The method further includes determining a stored serving-site selection policy applicable to the communication endpoint. The method also includes selecting a second serving site for the communication endpoint based, at least part, on a stored serving-site selection policy. Also, the method includes determining endpoint-configuration requirements of the second serving site. Furthermore, the method includes dynamically generating endpoint configurations that satisfy the endpoint-configuration requirements of the second serving site. Moreover, the method includes writing the generated endpoint configurations to the communication endpoint.

  • Publication number: 20210084111
Abstract: A content delivery network may provide content items to requesting devices using a popularity-based distribution hierarchy. A central analysis system may determine popularity data for a content item stored in a first caching device. The central analysis system may determine that a change in the popularity data is beyond a threshold value. The central analysis system may then transmit an instruction to move the content item from the first caching device to a second caching device in a different tier of caching devices than the first caching device. The central analysis system may update a content index to indicate that the content item has been moved to the second caching device. A user device may be redirected to request the content item directly from the second caching device.

  • Patent number: 10947622
Abstract: The disclosed methods and apparatus improve the fabrication of solid fibers and microstructures. In many embodiments, the fabrication is from gaseous, solid, semi-solid, liquid, critical, and supercritical mixtures using one or more low molar mass precursor(s), in combination with one or more high molar mass precursor(s). The methods and systems generally employ the thermal diffusion/Soret effect to concentrate the low molar mass precursor at a reaction zone, where the presence of the high molar mass precursor contributes to this concentration, and may also contribute to the reaction and insulate the reaction zone, thereby achieving higher fiber growth rates and/or reduced energy/heat expenditures together with reduced homogeneous nucleation. In some embodiments, the invention also relates to the permanent or semi-permanent recording and/or reading of information on or within fabricated fibers and microstructures.

  • Patent number: 10949237
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for managing operating system customization in an on-demand code execution system in a manner that enables efficient execution of code. A user may generate a task on the system by submitting code. The system may determine the operating system functions that the submitted code may invoke when executed on the system, and may determine whether the required functionality can be provided by a customized operating system. The customized operating system may provide some functionality but omit other functionality, and thereby avoid consuming any resources associated with making the omitted functionality available. For example, the system may determine that the user-submitted code does not require filesystem interactions, network interactions, interactions with particular devices, caching, paging, profiling, etc., and may thus provide an operating system that does not include one or more of these services.
