Abstract: A seat heater for a motor vehicle is shown and described. An electronic controller receives input signals from a manual switch controlling separate seat and seatback heating elements. One type of signal, such as that resulting from one depression of the switch, effects energizing of both seat and also seatback heating elements. A second type of signal, such as two depressions of the switch, effects energizing of only the seatback heating element. The input signals provide operating power to the electronic controller. Optionally, energizing of the seatback heating element may be stopped should any other pattern of switch operation occur. Optionally, energizing of only the seatback heating element may be indicated audibly, visibly, or both. Optionally, energizing of only the seatback heating element may be limited to a predetermined time interval.

Abstract: A remotely operated control system for energizing vehicular seat heating and cooling system is shown and described. The novel control system uses a remote control originally intended to operate vehicle features other than seat heating and cooling. The remote control issues more than the necessary single control command within a predetermined time period. The control system preferentially recognizes that the extra signals are intended to operate the seat heating or cooling features. Responsively, power is connected to a selected seat heating or cooling feature. The novel control system is conveniently wired to local electrically energized original conductors of the vehicle electrical system to bring power to the seat heaters or coolers.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-media system of books, photo albums, catalogs, and jewelry boxes that are capable of playing video and audio content. A multi-media system according to the present invention comprises a first member that is capable of opening and closing in relation to a second member in a clam-like or book-like manner. The opening and closing movements of the members are detected by a sensor that activates a media device for playing video and audio content.

Abstract: A vehicle alarm set signal level control that controls the volume of a car alarm and also the output level of the alarm setting or arming signal. The alarm volume is controlled by a frequency responsive circuit employing a silicon control rectifier in combination with a zener diode and a resistance that can be left in or removed from the circuit. Arming signal level control is comprised of a bypass circuit employing a transistor and a photo detector in combination with a potentiometer. The level of the output signal when setting the alarm is varied according to the amount of light available. In an optional embodiment for a car alarm using a low level signal both an arming signal setting signal level control and a visible output are used. The circuit employs a pulse rate controller providing an output through a protection circuit and a volume control to a piezoelectric tone generator.
