  • Patent number: 5803562
Abstract: A portable and transportable workstation having a cabinet having opposed side walls joined to an upright rear wall extending therebetween, the cabinet defining an interior compartment accessible through an open upright front side, and a door connected by a hinge along a front edge of the cabinet for horizontal swinging movement of the door between open and closed positions. A stationary table top is disposed within the interior compartment to define a stationary work surface and a telescoping table top is disposed adjacent the stationary table top so as to define a main work surface. on the side wall opposite the door, an upper side wall portion is hinged to a lower side wall portion and is foldable downwardly to a horizontal position to define an auxiliary work surface. The top end of the cabinet includes a hinged cover and the bottom end includes a removable panel to accommodate a user.

  • Patent number: 4792881
Abstract: A work surface structure having a power/communication module integral therewith. This module is hidden beneath a door which is flush with and forms a part of the top of the work surface structure. This module permits numerous power and communication (i.e. data) cables to be fed into the module for connection to apppropriate connectors, and excess lengths of cable can be stored within a compartment of the module. Additional cable storage compartments are hidden below the top of the work surface for storing therein excess lengths of power/communication cables which extend from external locations to the module.

  • Patent number: 4734826
Abstract: A work surface structure having a channel arrangement fixed to and extending longitudinally along a front edge of a top member for accommodating power/communication cables. The channel arrangement has a bottom wall provided with openings which accommodate removable tray modules. One of the tray modules can be of substantial depth to mount a power unit therein which provides a plurality of accessible receptacles. Access to the trays is through the channel, the latter having several openable covers. These covers are preferably hinged adjacent their rearward edges and, in the vicinity of their forward edges when in the closed position, there is defined an elongated access opening which communicates with the channel to permit power or communication cables to extend therethrough.
