  • Publication number: 20200192438
Abstract: A portable information handling system structure located between housing hinges along one side of the housing has first and second antenna disposed at opposing ends with a cooling fan between the first and second antenna and over the antenna structure to isolate the first and second antenna. In one embodiment, a parasitic element disposed between the first and second antenna and under the cooling fan has resonance tuned to isolate wireless signals of a frequency supported by the first and second antenna.

  • Publication number: 20200192430
Abstract: A portable information handling system battery pack couples plural flat battery cells to a frame in first and second planes having battery cells of the first plane aligned to extend past battery cells of the second plane in a cantilevered manner. In one embodiment, the battery pack integrates a battery management unit and a wireless charger.

  • Patent number: 10635140
Abstract: A portable information handling system rotationally couples first and second housing portions with a dual axle sequential hinge. Over a predetermined rotational orientation of one axle, a cam integrated with the axle engages a fulcrum biased into the hinge so that the fulcrum extends out of the hinge to support the information handling system at a support surface. For instance, before rotation of a lid housing portion relative to a main housing portion brings the lid housing portion into contact with the support surface, the fulcrum extends towards the support surface to raise the main housing portion and lid housing portion away from the support surface.

  • Patent number: 10606323
Abstract: A portable information handling system processes information with processing components disposed in a main housing portion and presents the information at a display disposed in a lid housing portion. A keyboard and touchpad disposed at the upper surface of the main housing portion accept end user inputs. The touchpad translates touch inputs at a touch detection surface into cursor movement at the display and accepts presses at a touch button as input clicks. One or more antenna integrated in the touchpad to support communication of wireless signals by a transceiver disposed in the main housing, such as to support wireless local area network communications. A ground plane of the touchpad forms openings under the one or more antenna to provide a pathway for the wireless signals.

  • Publication number: 20170212381
Abstract: A device includes a liquid crystal display panel, a compression pad, and a bottom chassis. The bottom chassis supports the liquid crystal display panel. The compression pad has a first surface facing the liquid crystal display panel and a second surface opposite the first surface. The second surface faces away from the liquid crystal display panel. The compression pad substantially fills a volume between the liquid crystal display panel and the bottom chassis. Also, a method of assembling a device includes providing a liquid crystal display panel having a display module reflector, aligning a compression pad assembly with the liquid crystal display panel, and removing a compression pad liner from the compression pad. The compression pad assembly includes the compression pad and the compression pad liner.

  • Patent number: 9507380
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly for attaching a lens to a housing of a device. The assembly includes a housing having a front opening, and a front edge which extends at least partially around the front opening, and a circuit substrate coupled to the housing. The assembly further includes one or more end caps coupled to the circuit substrate, the one or more end caps each having a front facing surface, where each end cap extends at least partially into the space between the circuit substrate and the front edge of the housing. A lens is coupled to the housing at the front edge and the front facing surface of the end cap.

  • Publication number: 20160007495
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly for attaching a circuit substrate to a housing. The assembly includes a fastener having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, where the first end is larger than a second end. The assembly further includes a circuit substrate including a through hole having a first opening on a first side of the circuit substrate and a second opening on a second side of the circuit substrate, the through hole for receiving the fastener. The assembly still further includes a mounted structure attached to the circuit substrate, which at least partially covers the second opening of the through hole on the second side of the circuit substrate, wherein the mounted structure restricts the size of an exposed portion of the second opening of the through hole.

  • Patent number: 8281952
Abstract: A container incorporating an integral roller surface for use with a roller-type liquid applicator. The roller surface may be movable from a first, operational position to a second, access position. The floor of the container may be sloped so that a well forms at a particular location, e.g., at or near one end of the container. The roller surface preferably provides access to the well during use. When the roller surface is moved to the second, access position, the sloped floor of the container may provide a second roller surface.
