  • Publication number: 20140222710
Abstract: Systems and methods for carton- and item-level tracking of deliveries to retail locations in a supply chain are described. A central shipment management system receives over a network, from one or more retail distribution centers associated with a plurality of retail locations, advanced shipping notice information describing one or more shipments of pluralities of cartons to a pool. The central computer system also receives, from the retailer or distribution center, product information including category and description information for items contained in a shipment to at least one retail location of the retailer. The received advance shipping notice information and the product information are processed. The processing applies one or more business logic rules to determine an estimated delivery date of the shipment to the at least one retail location. A portal accessible over the network by associates of the retail location is provided.

  • Patent number: 5848583
Abstract: This invention includes selecting a desired pressure for fuel injection in an internal combustion engine. The selection improves control of fuel injection by keeping the fuel in the fuel rail in a liquid state and by keeping the fuel injectors in an operating region where fuel injector fuel flow is less sensitive to changes in fuel injector pulse width.

  • Patent number: 5761917
Abstract: An air conditioner compressor clutch control that senses operator demands for acceleration from low vehicle speeds and several other variables, to release the engagement of the clutch for a period of time that is dependent on vehicle speed, throttle position or a maximum time period.

  • Patent number: 5657165
Abstract: A miniature, full-color display includes two rows of light-emitting elements that are both selected to emit light in substantially non-overlapping wavelength ranges comprising a blue-green wavelength range and a red wavelength range. The light-emitting elements as well as a magnifying lens, and an oscillating mirror are placed in a light-tight box having an opening through which the mirror may be viewed. The light from the blue-green elements is filtered by a filter which transmits either blue or green light depending on the mirror movement. The light-emitting devices are selectively illuminated as the mirror moves to create a full-color, substantially planar, two-dimensional image. The light box may be sized to be hand-held, or may be capable of being mounted to a pair of glasses, a headband or similar device.

  • Patent number: 5048077
Abstract: A telephone handset incorporates a miniature virtual image display which can display a full page of text at high resolution. The miniature display is a scanning mirror type of display in which a line image is generated by a line of light-emitting devices such as light emitting diodes (LEDs). A magnifying optical system creates a magnified virtual image of the LED line and the virtual line image is then converted into a virtual raster image by an oscillating mirror. The virtual image can be viewed at distances close to the display so that the display can be viewed while the telephone handset is being used.

  • Patent number: 4934773
Abstract: A miniature full-page video display which mounts at least one row of light-emitting elements such as LEDs, a magnifying lens, and a vibrating mirror in a light-tight box having an opening through which the mirror may be viewed. The LEDs are selectively illuminated at points in the travel of the vibrating mirror, resulting in rows of pixels being projected at selected points on the mirror to provide a two-dimensional image. Two or more rows of light-emitting diodes, each of a different color, may be adjacently mounted and selectively illuminated in a manner such that corresponding LEDs are projected on the same spot on the mirror, resulting in a color image. The light box may be a hand-held device or it may be mounted to glasses, a headband or a similar device, and the virtual image appearing at the mirror may be viewed directly through an opening in the box or through a suitable optical system.

  • Patent number: 4084914
Abstract: A self-erecting highway guide post for insertion in the ground is constructed in the form of a resilient plastic channel having a substantially flat center surface flanked on either side by a pair of flat side portions which are joined at an obtuse angle to the center portion by curved surfaces. A second, arcuately cross-sectioned channel is attached by fasteners through the center portions of each channel to the rear of the first channel. The rear, concave surface of the arcuate channel is directed toward the rear surface of the first channel and lies within its side portions. Such a configuration results in a self-erecting highway guide post when one end is imbedded in the ground to denote the margin of a highway. When the post is struck the curved portions flatten allowing the post to bend when run over by a vehicle and to recurve once the vehicle passes to re-erect the post.
