  • Publication number: 20230214758
Abstract: Various implementations for an automatic system and processes for monitoring the use of personal protective equipment in a work space are provided. The system includes barcodes attached to the personal protective equipment. The operation of the system involves capturing images of the work space and detecting human form objects and barcode objects in the images. The system and processes further involve calculating the probability that a user is wearing all personal protective equipment in accordance with safety rules applicable to the work space. In some implementations, the system and processes may be used to track personal protective equipment and other objects in a work space. Accordingly, the system and processes may be used to prevent or limit the occurrence of accidents, incidents and/or injuries in hazardous work environments.

  • Publication number: 20110171727
Abstract: Compositions and methods for activating genes of interest are provided. The compositions comprise a masked targeted expression cassette which expresses a gene product only in the presence of a target molecule. The cassettes are useful for the treatment of disease and for preventing the proliferation of neoplastic cells.

  • Patent number: 7900286
Abstract: An adjustable toilet support designed to be installed under wall mounted toilets in order to increase their load bearing capacities is disclosed. The toilet support comprises a base which rests on the floor below the toilet, a sleeve surrounding an upper portion of the base, and a contact member that contacts the underside of the toilet bowl. The sleeve and swivel ball are height adjustable with respect to the base by means of a support rod connected to the contact member and threaded into a nut contained inside the base. The support rod has an upper ball that fits within a socket under the contact member. The contact member may be in the shape of a swivel ball having a generally spherical side surface that contacts and holds the upper rim of the sleeve. During installation, the toilet support is positioned under the toilet, and the base is rotated while the sleeve, contact member and support rod are held against rotation, which causes the contact member to rise and contact the toilet bowl.

  • Patent number: 5163879
Abstract: A torch for juggling comprising a hollow, elongated body with a wick at one end surrounded by a wire reinforcement, a spark-generating mechanism carried within the body, and a pushbutton located on the end opposite the wick to operate the spark-generating mechanism, thereby igniting any fuel held by the wick. The spark-generating mechanism is preferably a piezo-electric spark generator with an electrode that passes through the hollow interior of the body and emerges on the outside and just below the wick so that the electrode and the wire reinforcement are close enough for a spark to jump the gap and ignite the fuel. The torch can be lighted simply by pushing the pushbutton just before the start of the juggling or during juggling.
