Patent number: 10040676Abstract: A system includes a detection device configured to transmit and receive one or more signals in a generally vertical direction above a vehicle. Additionally, the system may include a processing device configured to measure a time of flight associated with the transmission and receipt of the one or more signals in the generally vertical direction. A distance travelled by the one or more signals may be determined based, at least in part, on the measured time of flight, and the distance travelled may be compared with a threshold distance to determine an overhead clearance of the vehicle. In response to determining the overhead clearance, a vehicle system may be activated.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2016Date of Patent: August 7, 2018Assignee: HYSTER-YALE GROUP, INC.Inventors: Thomas Kenan Miller, Alan H. Fitzsimmons, Stephen A. Moore, Allen Brock

Patent number: 9680844Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems, methods and computer program products for automated collection of user-specified forensic data from a target computer associated with a case. In particular, embodiments herein disclosed provide for a system that is configured to provide a user interface to allow a user to select a target computer within a network, select one or more user profiles associated with the target computer, and specify one or more types of forensic data to be collected from the target computer. The system is also configured to create a subfolder in a folder linked to the case and one or more files in the subfolder for storing the user-specified data; connect the computer apparatus to the target computer; and collect the specified data and save the collected data to the files.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2015Date of Patent: June 13, 2017Assignee: BANK OF AMERICA CORPORATIONInventors: Thomas Thornbury, Mark Allen Brock, John Daron Redmon, Jeffrey Wayne Texada

Patent number: 9365228Abstract: In one embodiment, a coast control system, or dead-man brake inhibitor, is associated with a tiller arm that is used for steering a vehicle. A spring acts upon the tiller arm when an operator releases a control handle attached to the tiller arm to move the tiller arm to a braking position which causes an electronically or mechanically actuated brake to be applied. Before releasing the control handle, the operator may actuate the coast control system to inhibit movement of the tiller arm towards the braking position when the control handle is released. The operator may vertically reposition the tiller arm while the coast control system remains actuated by overcoming the inhibiting force applied by the coast control system when the tiller arm is moved toward the braking position and by overcoming the spring acting on the tiller arm when the tiller arm is moved away from the braking position.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2014Date of Patent: June 14, 2016Assignee: Hyster - Yale Group, Inc.Inventors: Robert Clay Dunigan, Jeff Monico, Alex Evans, Allen Brock, Lisa French
