  • Publication number: 20170010869
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses, including computer programs encoded on computer storage medium, for customizing a web-based application in a browser by primary user for use by secondary user independent of either user's platform or operating system. A system customizes a web-based application by retrieving an application template defined in markup language supported by the browser and having a plurality of elements, altering one of plurality of elements, storing a user data element indicative of the alteration to the element, and associating the user data element with the primary user. The user data element is published as a seed data element associated with the primary user. The secondary user can access the template and the seed data element associated with the primary user in a browser of the secondary user' s platform such that the template and the seed data element associated with the primary user together represent a customized web-based application.

  • Patent number: 9466881
Abstract: A set of global navigation satellite system receivers is deployed in and moves about a region that may be occupied by a signal jammer or spoofer. The receivers collect truth data from spectral content of the broadcast satellite signal and, optionally, from a set of sensors associated with each receiver from which an independent determination of location can be derived. The truth data are compared with data acquired by the receivers and an alert is issued upon detection of an anomaly. The data from receivers in a region of influence of the jammer or spoofer are aggregated, integrated, and correlated to generate a two-dimensional representation of a region in which the offending signals are present.

  • Patent number: 9437796
Abstract: A thermoelectric material and a thermoelectric converter using this material. The thermoelectric material has a first component including a semiconductor material and a second component including a rare earth material included in the first component to thereby increase a figure of merit of a composite of the semiconductor material and the rare earth material relative to a figure of merit of the semiconductor material. The thermoelectric converter has a p-type thermoelectric material and a n-type thermoelectric material. At least one of the p-type thermoelectric material and the n-type thermoelectric material includes a rare earth material in at least one of the p-type thermoelectric material or the n-type thermoelectric material.

  • Publication number: 20130232880
Abstract: An insulation device lays on top of an attic access, insulating the access, and prevents heat loss, heat radiation and cold or hot air from flowing into the home. Because the insulation device of the present invention lays on top of the attic access, and insulates all sides of the access at a consistent R-value, the insulation device is a more complete insulation system as compared to conventional systems that merely create a dead air space at the attic access. The insulation device may be hingedly attached at one end of the attic access to allow a user to easily open and close the insulation device accurately over the opening.

  • Publication number: 20120248183
Abstract: System for renting a cellphone, ipad or other electronic device for temporary use. Plurality of cellphones, ipads or other electronic devices are categorized and barcoded. A vending machine that receives a credit card information and request to rent one of the cellphones/ipads or other electronic devices from a user, releases the cellphone/ipad or other electronic device to a bar code reader which send the barcode information to a central processing unit that creates a user account and associates it with the credit card information and initiates timer. The timer is stopped when the same barcode is received by the processing unit and the user account is retrieved, then the credit card is charged with a calculated usage by the central processing unit. A rented cellphone, ipad or other electronic device may be authorized to access a remote central server for multimedia content.

  • Patent number: 7771700
Abstract: Systems are disclosed for making and using micro-porous particulates at least partially composed of metal sulfides, particularly alkaline earth metal and transition metal sulfides, as sorbents for removal of mercury from flue gas. Calcium sulfide micro-porous powders derived from the high temperature reduction of calcium sulfate and calcium sulfite are disclosed to be reactive substrates for a group of sorbents for adsorption of mercury from coal combustion flue gases produced by the utilities industry, as well as from natural gas and gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons. The sorbents are useful for cost-effectively adsorbing elemental mercury and oxidized mercury species such as mercuric chloride from flue gases, including those containing acid gases (e.g., SO.sub.2, NO and NO.sub.2, and HCl), over a wide range of temperatures.

  • Patent number: 6660242
Abstract: A method is disclosed for the manufacture of particles composed of an intimate admixture of barium or strontium ferrite and ferric oxide from a chloride solution containing barium or strontium ions and ferrous ions by a pyrohydrolysis reaction. The presence of carbon dioxide in the heated atmosphere in which pyrohydrolysis of an admixture of alkaline earth metal chloride and iron chloride is carried out has been discovered to substantially decrease the temperature required for reaction to occur.
