  • Patent number: 8955662
Abstract: A replacement roller support bracket allows a quick way of replacing damaged roller support brackets of a conveyor belt roller support system. The replacement roller support bracket includes an upper bracket assembly and a lower plate. The upper bracket assembly includes end walls, with recesses designed to receive a mounting flange of a roller, the end walls connected to side walls. The end walls also include remnant locators, extending downward, that locate a damaged roller support remnant, and guide the upper bracket down towards the system base during installation of the replacement bracket. The upper bracket and lower plate also include jaws with cut-outs corresponding to the shape of the system base, which can be of a variety of shapes, such as pipe-shaped or angle iron shaped. The cut-outs include teeth that engage the system base, that secure a tight fit around the system base and, along with the remnant locators, prevent bracket rotation.

  • Patent number: 7014389
Abstract: An articulated guard rail reflector assembly includes a standardized base adapted for mounting the corrugations of a metal guardrail or on top of a guard rail and a pair of interchangeable top reflector holding members, one being circular in outline and one being trapezoidal in outline to fit in the corrugation of a metal highway barrier. The base member and the reflective member are joined by a spring steel L-shape clip that snaps into place. The base and reflector holding members may be made of sheet or galvanized metal, aluminum, polycarbonate plastic, ABS plastic or the like. The L-shape member is made of spring steel and allows the reflector to be moved backwardly of its direction facing traffic by either brushing forces rubbing against the guardrail, or by the pressure of packed snow being pushed against the guardrail by a motor vehicle carrying a snowplow or the like. Preferred reflector material includes plastic lenses and/or reflective tape.

  • Patent number: 6461077
Abstract: A road marker base having locators or protrusions which are frangibly connected to the base. The pair of protrusions extend horizontally from the base in opposite directions and transverse to the direction of travel and include a bottom surface for engaging the top surface of the roadway adjacent the recess. The bottom surface defines the height of the reflector support surface relative to the road's top surface. A unidirectional base includes a reflector support surface adjacent one end of the base in the direction of travel capable of receiving and providing visibility of both faces of a standard bidirectional reflector.

  • Patent number: 5816737
Abstract: An improved, unitary signal assembly operable to replace removeable signal assemblies of sub-surface mounted roadway markers or alternatively capable of being mounted directly to pavement surfaces comprising a load carrying, rigid, compression resistant, metal center bar for transmitting vertical loads directly to a rigid base mounted in a sub-surface depression formed in a paved roadway or directly to the roadway surface when mounted independently of such a base; the center bar being integrated with a support base carrying at least one light emitting signal device formed separate or integrally with angularly disposed sides of the base; the center bar including a laterally extending canopy at its upper end operable for protectively overhanging the upper end of a signal device to insulate the same from impact loads.

  • Patent number: 5454664
Abstract: A low profile, bi-directionally snow-plowable road marker having a cast metal base or body of generally square plan configuration formed on its underside with laterally spaced oppositely curved arcuate rib members flanked by transversely extending webs and protrusions located centrally of the body and acting with the rib members to self-center the cast body in a shallow arcuate depression of single radius formed in a roadway pavement; the webs and protrusions being configured to evenly distribute adhesive over the bottom, sides, ends and over portions of the upper side of the cast body to encapsulate and lock the same securely in the pavement depression.

  • Patent number: 5215206
Abstract: A closure ring assembly for securing a cover in sealed relation over the open top of a storage drum container in which a split ring is closed by tightening a headed tie bolt between a pair of laterally spaced lugs fixed to the ring on opposite of the split therein; the bolt freely passing through one of the lugs and threadingly engaging the other so that upon tightening the bolt the ring is contracted with the one non-threaded lug having outwardly extending teeth for engaging the bolt head to lock the same in tightened position.

  • Patent number: 4762347
Abstract: A security door assembly for enclosing the ends of filling and discharge hose storage tubes employed on over the road tank trucks and trailers is disclosed wherein pivotally interconnected cover door and support frame members are formed with interfitable male and female marginal lugs having coaxially aligned openings receptive of an axially moveable lock bolt whereby movement of the bolt in one direction serves to interlock the lugs and movement of the bolt in the opposite direction serves to release such lugs. A detent is provided for removably maintaining the bolt in locking and releasing positions and a stop member cooperates with the bolt to provide limited movement of the bolt in a lug releasing direction. A manually engageable member is provided on the bolt for actuating the same.

  • Patent number: 4413850
Abstract: A lever operated mechanism for opening and closing a split clamp ring used to secure a cover over the open end of cylindrical storage drums or barrels is disclosed in which the actuating lever is pivotally connected to one end of the ring and joined to the opposite end thereof by an intervening articulated link movable along an elongated opening extending laterally through the actuating lever to present a multi-position interlink between the ring ends productive of variable mechanical advantage which increases as the ring ends approach one another. The actuating lever also carries a pivotal latch adapted to move through the elongated opening therein for purposes of securing the actuating lever to the ring and thereby preventing ring opening operation of such lever. In a modified version deformable latch means move through the lever opening to hold the same against ring opening operation.

  • Patent number: 4168668
Abstract: A tiedown winch for securing a load such as an automobile to a transporting vehicle such as a railroad car includes a housing slidable in a channel track carried by the transporting vehicle. A chain for securing the load is wound on a drum journalled in top and bottom walls of the housing for rotation around a vertical axis. Both end walls of the housing are provided with openings so that the chain can extend from the housing in either direction, and the openings include contiguous segments in the bottom wall to decrease the height of the housing. The top wall or cover of the housing is hinged for access to the drum, and a single locking mechanism is provided for the cover and for securing the housing against sliding in the track. In an intermediate position, the locking mechanism permits the housing to slide freely while the cover is held closed.

  • Patent number: 4094542
Abstract: Novel hatch latch apparatus operable upon dropclosing of an elongated trough or circular hatch cover to effect automatic locking of the hatch cover's striker bar to a covered hopper car's roof whereby the hatch cover's compression seal is compressably seated and sealed against the hatch opening's coaming. Detented unlatching of the hatch cover is effected by operation of an associated detent lever which positively places the apparatus' latch lever out of operational engagement with the hatch cover's striker bar. When in the inoperative detent position, the novel latch apparatus is further operable upon a subsequent drop-closing of the hatch cover and its associated striker bar to effect reactivation of the latch lever from the detent position to the normal latching position, therefore again effecting automatic locking.
