  • Patent number: 9186551
Abstract: A crawling exercise device having a base with a quartet of spaced apart notches disposed within the top side, a block slidably disposed above each notch, respectively, a pad disposed atop each block, a wheel connected to each block through each notch, each wheel supported on the bottom side interior, a first connecting rod in operational communication with the wheels of the first small block and the first large block, a second connecting rod in operational communication with the wheels of the second small block and the second large block, a dual inertia wheel disposed at the first end, each of the first connecting rod and the second connecting rod pivotally affixed to the dual inertia wheel, the first connecting rod affixed to the dual inertia wheel 180 degrees out of phase with the second connecting rod, wherein sliding movement of the blocks turns the dual inertia wheel.

  • Patent number: 6012397
Abstract: An outlet gate assembly for a hopper type railway car includes a frame adapted to be mounted on an outlet opening in the rail car and a gate in the frame. A conventional rack and pinion opening and closing drive moves the gate between open and closed positions on the frame. An inertial latch mechanism latches the gate in the fully closed position. Actuation of the opening and closing drive displaces the latch to automatically unlatch the gate. Upon impact, an inertial mass generates a latching force holding the latch closed and preventing opening of the gate.

  • Patent number: 5658779
Abstract: A method of adsorbing from a solution comprising a biological sample viruses which retain their viability and infectivity. The method comprises adjusting the pH of said solution to pH 6.0 to 8.0; adding an effective amount of a water insoluble cross-linked polycarboxylic acid polymer ("WCPP") into said solution in a volume:volume ratio of WCPP to solution of 100:1 to 1:10,000 to form a WCPP-solution mixture; incubating said WCPP-solution mixture for a time sufficient to immobilize said viruses on said WCPP forming a WCPP-virus matrix; and separating said matrix from said solution. This novel method is suitable for removing, purifying, recovering and analyzing viable viruses as well as viral components such as viral proteins and nucleic acids.
