  • Patent number: 11348053
Abstract: Methods and systems include receiving vehicle data that is associated, at least in part, with one or more vehicle-related products/services. One or more predictions that are associated with the one or more vehicle-related products/services are determined. The one or more predictions are based, at least in part, on the vehicle data.

  • Patent number: 10019902
Abstract: Two or more quiet vehicles traveling together sense each other and communicate to each other the condition of the respective drivers of the vehicles and announce their presence to pedestrians and other motorists using noise sounds. The characteristics of the emitted sounds are selected according to a level of threat presented by the quiet vehicles.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 14, 2017
Date of Patent: July 10, 2018
    Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems, Inc.
Inventors: Robert Allen Gee, Shafer Burch Seymour
  • Patent number: 10008058
Abstract: The integrated garage door opener controller in a vehicle, i.e., a garage door controller embedded in a vehicle, is prevented from operating pending receipt of a personal identification number (PIN) into a display device. In an alternate embodiment, the embedded garage door controller is enabled by information from occupant sensors, which indicate whether a driver or other person in the vehicle previously used the vehicle. In an alternate embodiment, an alarm is transmitted to a telematics service provider after a predetermined number of attempts to unlock the system have been made.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 26, 2018
    Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems, Inc.
Inventors: David R. Piche, Robert Allen Gee

  • Patent number: 9744809
Abstract: The presence of an electrically-powered quiet vehicle is accomplished by determining a state of mind or physical state of the driver, determining the presence and proximity of humans and other objects, how the vehicle is being operated and generating a noise correlative to the threat posed by the vehicle to humans and other objects.

  • Patent number: 5459636
Abstract: Disclosed are a system and method for determining the pose (translation, rotation, and scale), or position and orientation, of a model object that best matches a target object located in image data. Through an iterative process small adjustments are made to the original position and orientation of the model object until it converges to a state that best matches the target object contained in the image data. Edge data representative of edges of the target object and edge data representative of the model object are processed for each data point in the model object relative to each point in the target object to produce a set of minimum distance vectors between the model object and the target object. A neural network estimates translation, rotation, and scaling adjustments that are to be made to the model object. Pose of the model object is adjusted relative to the target object based upon the estimated translation, rotation, and scaling adjustments provided by the neural network.
