  • Patent number: 4994810
Abstract: A method and correction circuit is described incorporating a monopulse receiver, injecting a first signal of known amplitude and arbitrary phase and a second signal of the same amplitude shifted 90.degree. and measuring the output voltages of the channel and using the measurements to generate four coefficients which may be mathematically applied to the ouptut signals of the channel to provide a corrected output. The invention overcomes the problem of compensating for phase and gain drift in the in-phase and quadrature paths of the sum and difference channels of a monopulse receiver.

  • Patent number: 4973971
Abstract: An apparatus and method for generating a directional beam for radiating or receiving electromagnetic signals having a constant beamwidth over a predetermined frequency range has been described incorporating a circular array antenna, a Butler matrix, a plurality of phase shifters, a plurality of transmission line lengths, and a power divider. The invention overcomes the problem of constant beamwidth over a predetermined frequency range such as one and one half octaves.

  • Patent number: 4652880
Abstract: An antenna feed network is described incorporating a plurality of power dividers and a plurality of power combiners to distribute at least two microwave signals over predetermined electrical path lengths to two overlapping subarrays of antenna elements forming an antenna aperture. The invention further provides a module incorporating a plurality of power dividers and power combiners utilizing Wilkenson strip-line power dividers and utilizing zero db branch arm hybrid couplers to provide wiring crossovers on the upper surface of a printed circuit board having a ground plane on its lower surface.

  • Patent number: 4089002
Abstract: The positive portion of the differentiated negative envelope of a detected radar return signal is divided into range cells. The first range cell is taken and doubled to provide a first and succeeding range cell to comprise a Doublet. The Doublets are integrated in a sliding window detector and beam split to supply the target coordinates.

  • Patent number: 4086597
Abstract: In a microwave lens of the Rotman type for a scanning beam antenna a plurality of radiating feed probes are spaced along the focal arc. An illumination function is then commutated around the focal arc by energizing groups of the feed probes simultaneously in accordance with weighting functions to thereby cause the resulting radiated beam to scan in small equally spaced increments while the array factor remains essentially constant. Methods of calculating the weighting functions and feed probe spacing are shown.
