  • Patent number: 7259656
Abstract: A system and method displays a safe route from a location to a destination that avoids one or more hazards detected, such as a fire or a gas leak.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 8, 2002
Date of Patent: August 21, 2007
Assignee: CH2M Hill Industrial Design & Construction, Inc.

  • Patent number: 4610597
Abstract: A mechanical interface for joining a gripper to a robot wrist of the type having a shaft projecting outwardly as the distal member of a robot arm. The interface includes a sleeve having an internal nut or flange for properly locating the sleeve with respect to the shaft. At this location, a bevel gear at the end of the shaft engages a similar gear within the sleeve so that the sleeve is locked to the shaft. The bevel gear within the sleeve is supported by a spring so that outward force from the sleeve allows separation of the gears and disconnection of the coupler from the shaft. Internal fluid passageways within the sleeve allow transmission of fluid pressure from the shaft to a connected gripper for transmitting power, control signals or sensing signals between the robot arm and the gripper.

  • Patent number: 4555217
Abstract: A robot arm with upper and lower arm sections having shoulder, elbow and wrist joints. The shoulder joint is triaxial having a sweep axis, a swivel axis and a roll axis, the three axes being mutually perpendicular and intersecting at a point. The elbow joint has a single extension axis parallel to the swivel axis of the shoulder joint. The wrist joint has a pitch axis parallel to the elbow extension axis. Wrist roll motion is provided by roll motion of the shoulder joint so that the robot wrist may have low mass.

  • Patent number: 4477134
Abstract: An electrostatic discharge protected integrated circuit module is disclosed in which an integrated circuit is attached to a flexible circuit board inside a receptacle. Spring action forces the traces of the flexible circuit board against a conducting surface in the receptacle, shorting the traces so that the potential at all contact leads of the integrated circuit will rise uniformly in the event of an electrostatic discharge. A plug connector may be inserted through an opening in the receptacle to interrupt the shorting and to connect the integrated circuit to an electronic device. Protection is restored automatically when the plug connector is withdrawn.

  • Patent number: 4430531
Abstract: A metal snap disc type keyboard is disclosed having a plurality of snap discs each with a central domed portion and a peripheral foot portion. The discs are fastened together in strips to a common mounting strap having locating holes to facilitate assembly. The strips of snap discs are mounted to a printed circuit board that has corresponding conductors, and a resilient sheet is placed over this assembly. The resilient sheet provides additional key travel and cushions the harshness of the snap of the snap discs. These components are fastened into a top case in which keys are hingedly mounted for actuating the individual snap domes.

  • Patent number: 3972633
Abstract: A wheel hub assembly for a front wheel of a four wheel drive vehicle. The hub assembly has an unlocked position which permits free overrun of the wheel and a locked position where the wheel is fixedly secured to its drive axle. It comprises a conventional roller clutch mechanism in which there is an outer housing, an inner driving hub and a roller clutch assembly mounted between the housing and the hub. A clutch lock assembly, connected to the housing through a spring connection, is positioned in the outside portion of the housing and comprises a lock cage having a plurality of lock fingers that are movable axially inwardly to engage related slots in a roller clutch cage and thus mechanically interconnect the outer housing to the roller clutch assembly.
